Photoshop crashes

Post by 24bit »

Hello SheepShaver enthusiasts,

I came across this wonderful site just recently.
I am still using an old PPC7100 and an iMac bondi-blue.
For the predictable case that systems will fail,
I would be happy to move all my files to SS.

I set up an emulator with the recent files cat7 posted.
My host system is WinXP with an AthlonX2 5000
GTK2-runtime-2.16.5
I took the ROM image from iMac update 1.1
The emulators RAM ist set to 1GB, the dsk files were
created with HFV_Explorer and are 1GB and 512MB.
Operating system is Mac OS 8.6.

My applications are running quite fast so far,
but Photoshop 5.02 is a problem.
The program starts as usual, but every time I touch
Photoshops main menue, the emulator crashes and gives
me this bomb message with a restart button:

A system error occured
"Adobe Photoshop 5.0"
Error: 10

Could anybody give me a hint please, what might have gone wrong?
I have already dedicated 68904k to Photoshop.
I tried a freshly installed photoshop and a copied one, that has
been working with my iMac.
The error is always the same.

Thanks a lot!
René

Perhaps try an earlier version of Photoshop? Photoshop 4.0 can be found at macintoshgarden.org, while I haven't yet fully tested it out yet, it seems to work fine in SheepShaver with OS 8/9.
