Post by boris13 »

my machine:
27" imac 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

if i understand right, i can use this program to run an older mac OS on my current OS
and then on the older OS i will be able to run my Freehand 8? with my dangle (software security verify thingy)

i have the original cd's and everything else for the freehand 8 and for the older mac os. all legal.

A dongle (probably USB dongle?) will not work because SheepShaver does not support USB. I do not know if there is a way (a hack) to use the software without the dongle.

transfer the contents of the flash drive to the shared folder and you should be able to access it as if it is an external disc. I have no first hand info on if that software works, generally SS works well.

The OP did not ask how to transfer software from a flash drive to SheepShaver, he asked if a dongle will work with SheepShaver. A dongle is a device that will allow software to run only when the dongle is attached to the computer. A dongle cannot be duplicated simply. The dongle is to prevent copies of the software to run on any other computer than the one that is used by the owner of the dongle. A dongle will not work with SheepShaver.

From the Adobe Freehand site:
FreeHand customers can switch to Illustrator CS5 for US$199 (volume licensing also available), and access complimentary resources to ease the transition. For additional information, please visit www.adobe.com/illustrator
