Hey, I've hurdled my way through a couple obstacles so far, I'm currently experiencing a bit of a problem now though.

I've started the baldurs gate II installation, took it through until it asked for CD #2, I then inserted CD #2. At this point the installation detected the cd was inserted and continued the installation. However immediately after it begins to start the installation, I get

Quote:
A disk error occured white reading from the disk. Please contact tech. support for help.

1008:22, -36 IO ERROR (Bad Disk)

First I thought it may have been a disk error but I've checked these disk images and they seem to be working correctly.

I've used the CD-ROM driver to get my Baldurs Gate images(Mounted on my C drive) to show in the Mac.

Thanks.

*EDIT*
I should say, the images were originally in .dmg format but because it smees to be impossible to get toast for Mac OS 9 I've resorted to converting them to .bin/.cue and mounting those on my windows machine; then using the cd tom driver to get them to appear in the PPC Mac OS 9 Emulation.

Alright, I solved the installation problem by disabling polling. (Deselecting "Try to automatically detect new removable media" option in SheepShaver config.)

However, now whenever I start the game I get a C++ runtime error from sheepshaver and sheepshaver crashes.

Okay, solved by installing game on a bigger volume and playing with the game's configuration.

Now I'm getting a mac system error:

Sorry a system error occured.
"Baldur's Gate II"
Error Type 1943[/quote]

Hello,
what host system are you on, actually?
I think I could give that game a try and take a look wether I can reproduce your error, if you can point me to a legal download link.
Best wishes!

The Host OS: Windows XP
I'm emulating Mac OS 9.0.4 (I'm pretty sure)

According to Macintosh Garden, the publishers have discontinued the game. Whether the link is actually legal, I'm pretty sure it is, but I can't be for certain.

http://www.macintoshgarden.org/ hosts the games, here the link:

Don't bother installing the expansion pack though.

Anyway, I got it working by disabling "3D Acceleration" in the graphics tab of BGConfig. For those who may be encountering the same problem: Bring down all the graphics options and then disable 3D accelleration, in all, play around with the graphics setting.

Only a single problem remains: The framerate of the game is quite low. I've tried increasing it's updates per second and decreasing\increasing screen refresh-rate(in sheepshaver config window). I've also tried playing around with the "SheepShaver.exe" process priority.

Are there any tricks I could try to employ? Maybe running with a different Host OS?

Thanks!
