I was making some memory testing with v2.3 and I figured out that in most times my SS sooner or later crashes with this error:



I've been searching in the forum and it seems that this is a file used only in Linux, right?

There is also a sound issue with this one. I am running Mac OS 8.6 with a New World ROM file, I don't know if they are related somehow. Strange, because Mac OS 8.1 (old world), 7.5.5 (old world) and 9.0.4 (new world), all with the same preferences work fine. I tried different disk images and I get both these problems only with 8.5/8.6.

The system boots normally. It seems that it crashes sometimes when sound is needed.
I've been launching the emulator via AppleScript calling a shell command.

When you post about issues with SheepShaver, please tell which build you are using. All builds since 2006, though very different, have version number 2.3.

You are using SheepShaver in MacOSX? Which version and on what kind of machine?

This is not an error message, this is what is normally reported when you run SheepShaver. The warning about /dev/sheep_net means that you have not configured the network setting for SheepShaver correctly and you will not have a network connection. It has no relation with SheepShaver crashing. As described in the setup manual, the ethernet interface should be set to "slirp" for SheepShaver MacOSX.

To enable sound, you must select "built-in" for the output device in Sound control panel. In MacOS 8.5/8.6 this control panel is not installed with the other control panels, but in the "Apple Extras" folder. Also this is described in the setup manual.
