ROM size error

Post by Guest »

I am attempt to use SheepShaver in RedHat 9.0 with the ROM extracted from the Apple site, however the 2.2-8 version states it needs a 4MB ROM from a PCI PowerMac.

I thought I could boot with this ROM??

From what I remember, the ROM dumped from a PowerMac contains much of the same toolbox routines that a 1 MB 68k ROM has. Wish I had access to the technical structure of Mac ROMs.

The 2 MB ROM from the ROM Update supports OS 8.5.x and 8.6 only.

Hey there, it was me who posted as guest...ooops...

Anyway, I have an OS 8.6 CD. SheepShaver won't even boot or tell me that the machine isn't supported. It throws up a dialouge saying that I require a 4Mb ROM Image to start the program.

This is VERY annoying
