Install problem: MDK 9.2 + SheepShaver 2.2.9 RPM

Post by Kilik »

Hi,

i have tried to install SheepShaver 2.2.9 RPM under Mandrake 9.2. It says:

"Some package requested cannot be installed:
SheepShaver-2.2.9mdk.i586 (due to unsatisfied libXxf86vm.so.1)
..."

(Have installed all available Dev-Tools from MDK 9.2-Install-CDs)

Thanks

Install what you have to from the required files listed on this page: http://rpms.mandrakeclub.com/rpms/mandr ... .i586.html

AFAIK that library is part of xfree86 itself, possibly a dev library.

I dont know Mandrake but with rpms in general they expect to find certain libraries in certain places and there is a database that stores what libraries have been installed through rpm. So it is possible that the library is there anyway (ie it is installed but rpm doesnt know it is there). Try adding --nodeps to your arguments list when installing the rpm

Get Mandrake Linux 10.0 pre-releases, or rebuild the SRPM yourself (available in any cooker/contrib mirror), or wait for a normal "generic" release when some SSE optimizations are committed for AltiVec emulation.

looks like it's linked against the Cooker XFree86.

I installed it, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to contain the Ethernet fix
