issue with appleshare

Post by davy »

hello,

My emualtion mac os 9.1, I would like to connect a network drive.

But I have no selector in the menu "apple" of the finder.
AppleShare is present in the extensions folder, but does not work.

I use the latest version of SheepShaver.

Could you help me, please?

(I suppose you use a different MacOS version than the one you mention. MacOS 9.1 does not run in SheepShaver.)

- Which is your host system (Windows or OSX and which version)?
- Exactly what kind of network drive do you want to access from within SheepShaver?

The answer to the second one is appleshare -- but additionally, which version of Appleshare? Appleshare IP, or the old LocalTalk Appleshare?

First of all, thank you for your answers.
sorry, I use MAC OS 9.0.4 on a Windows host.

I would like to permanently connect network drives.
I can access the server Web interface that has network shares.
I was able to mount network shares manually using the following procedure:
- Copy the AppleShare file ClassicHD / system Folder / Extensions
- Click on "apple" -> chooser -> AppleShare -> server ip address
- I type the user name and password
- Now I can see all folders to the right users.

If I check the box on the right, I am asked if I want to back up only the user name, or if I want to save the user name and password and the password in the keychain.
In any case, my Mac OS does not restart (I feel he is trying to connect to network drives without success)

How can I know the version of Apple share?

By chance, do you know how I can change the user name in the mac os9 management software?
