Hello,
I just compiled from git repo SheepShaver on Linux (Debian Jessie PPC on PowerBook G4) but I really does not understand how to use it...
I am regularly using BasiliskII on this machine running System 7.5.3 (sometimes I got a strange windowed mode clash/crash, but after a kill -9 it usually runs...)
Anyway I would know how to run MacOS 9 (OS9.2.2) in SheepShaver as this machine is a REAL PowerPC G4 with its own Apple BootRom...
Please drive me on how to create files (roms) and other stuff to correctly use this emulator...
Another thing, what about MacOnLinux Project on surceforge for MacOSX in the same host-system?
Best regards and I wish you all a Happy New Year 2015!
Gianluca

Hello,
You can only run up to Mac OS 9.0.4 in SheepShaver, and you still need a valid rom file.
Rom files can be found on the redundant robot site. (old world rom for running 7.5.3 up to 9.04, new world rom for running 8.5 up to 9.0.4).
I never tried Mac-on-linux.
Best,

On a PowerBook G4 you do not need MacOnLinux (or SheepShaver if you just want to run old MacOS applications). A PowerBook G4 can run MacOSX up to 10.4.11 and have MacOS 9.2.2 run in Classic mode in MacOSX. If the PowerBook G4 is an older model (pre-2003?), it can even boot in MacOS 9.2.2 directly.
