SheepShaver Crash
I think this one related to ROM file but i don't know why. If i try the Mac_OS_ROM_oldworld, SheepShaver works fine without any crash. But when i try the Mac_OS_ROM, SheepShaver crashes after i press Start button. I also downloaded the newworld ROM but it crashes too.
Re: SheepShaver Crash
Hi,
It is recommended that you "zap" the pram file when you change roms.
Depending on your host system, this file is called SheepShaver_nvram.dat (in Windows) or .SheepShaver_nvram (in OSX).
In Windows just delete the file and start SheepShaver.
In OSX, start terminal, make sure you are in your home folder, and type "rm .sheepshaver_nvram"
Please note there is a dot (.) in front of the file name, and don't use the ""
For your information: the Mac_OS_ROM is a newworld rom.
Best,
Cat_7

Re: SheepShaver Crash
Ok:
We need a more methodical approach:
1. What is your host system?
2. Which version of Mac OS are you running?
3. How did you install that OS?

Re: SheepShaver Crash
Hi,
I see you have an iso image of the installation CD with Mac OS 9.0.4.
Please try to boot from the iso. Set your prefs like this. You can edit the sheepshaver_prefs file manually.
disk F:\Archive\Mac OS\9.0.4\Apple MacOS 9.0.4.iso
disk C:\Users\Vinh Quang Tran\Downloads\Compressed\SheepShaver\Disk1.hfv
Please check that the Apple MacOS 9.0.4.iso is set to read only in Windows.
and remove this disk line:
disk C:\Users\Vinh Quang Tran\Downloads\Compressed\SheepShaver\DiskTools85_PPC.img
Next, set
ignoreillegal false to
ignoreillegal true
I see you have some files in a folder named Compressed. I hope this doesn't mean the files in that folder are really compressed?
Best,
Cat_7

About the folder named Compressed: no. That is the folder created by the Internet Download Manager.
Re: SheepShaver Crash
Ok, i recreated the ISO file and marked Read-only. Now it worked. Thanks.
