Processor Speed

Post by Powertrip »

Is there any way to change my machine's emulated processor speed? Or is it irrelevant? I am using the 9600 ROM and it just seems silly to have a 100MHz clock speed.

I did try searching for the answer and could not find anything. My apologies if my Search-Fu was not strong.

Hi,

SheepShaver runs as fast as your CPU allows. The 100Mhz indication is just cosmetic.
Downside is that you can't slow the emulation down ;-)

Is there any way to edit this to something else?

You could modify the source code and recompile it. There's a guide on this site to building SheepShaver, and it isn't hard to follow. (I've done it.) I'm not sure it's worth the effort for this cosmetic change, though.

You could also search for the value in the compiled binary and modify it with a hex editor. I'm not quite sure what value you'd search for though... a peek at the source code might help with that.
