Printers from OS9 to Mac OS X El Capitan

Post by Roquebidouille »

Hello
OS9 on PowerBook OSX El Capitan
The network is working as I can run classilla v 9.3.3 (Only using DHCP, Manual IP address do not work)
I would like to print to my printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g which is connected to Ethernet Network
I tried all informations given in post http://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6906 without success
neither http://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3331
In Desktop Printer Utility, As soon as I give My computer address to 192.168.10.71 which is my PowerBook IP address over Ethernet, It does not find the shared printers (verify button fails) I cannot see any of the printers.

In an other hand, If I give the printer IP address (which is for me 192.168.10.10) the printer can be found.
and LPR works

But The laser driver produces PostScript stream that are not known by my printer as soon as it does not have any PostScript interpreter.

Is there a tip to get rid of this ?

Thanks

Follow the other printing guide on the Wiki; your best bet is probably to print to PDF under OS 9, save that to the Unix folder, and have a folder action on El Capitan that automatically prints any documents saved to that folder.
