Crashing when trying to load webpages [Ubuntu 15.10/SS 2.4]

Post by WindowsXP »

First of all, sorry if i'm making a post that is already solved, i entered this 'Old Mac OS Emulation' recently, and i've not seen most posts yet...

I am using SheepShaver 2.4, and is working pretty good, but when i try to use any browser (tried in IE, Netscape, Icab and Classilla) it (sometimes) loads the page, but then crashes...

Example:

Open Classilla -> google-classic.com -> loads the page -> after 2 to 3 seconds SS closes without any message
  • |Configurations

    |SS:
    |Ethernet Interface : slirp
    |Ignore Illegal Memory Access : true

    |Mac OS 9.0.4:
    |TCP/IP: Ethernet, Using DHCP Server

    |Ubuntu 15.10
    |SheepShaver 2.4
    |Mac OS 9.0.4
Just learning more about computers...

The networking code in SheepShaver is not 64-bit clean, and can crash in a 64-bit environment. If you're running a 64-bit SheepShaver binary, try the 32-bit version instead.

Slirp networking is broken on Linux, try the sheep_net driver. You'll have to compile it, it doesn't compile by default when you compile SheepShaver.
