Building net module on arch

Post by 5RVLyre »

Hello!

I am new here in the forum and I wanted to build Sheepshaver and Basilisk on my MacBook Pro 8,1 with El Capitan but after a few tries I came to read that it isn´t possible!
I tried instead on Arch Linux and was able to build but not the net module! (no rule to make target).
Sheepshaver only starts to boot and then crashes with SIGSEGV messages that I don´t understand.
Is it possible to fix this in Arch?
Which Mac OS X version is the latest to build Sheepshaver/BasiliskII on?
Will a build from a vm (for example 10.6.8) work on El Capitan?

( I am aware that some question is for another forum but..)

I've never got the Arch toolchain to build the net module, so I can't help you there.

However, I can build the OS X version on my MBP running 10.6.8 under VirtualBox.

It may also be possible to build directly under El Cap, but you'd need to do a lot of work to hack together the correct gcc toolchain; it's easier to use the one from 10.6.8 instead.

That said, I can build Mini vMac II and QEMU under Sierra with no difficulties ;)

Thanks for answer!

I will try to build from 10.6.8 in a vm!
On Arch I did not use ABS for Sheepshaver.
