I've completely rewritten our PearPC setup guide:
http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/pearpc_setup
It now references the new 0.5.0 release of the emulator and the VirtualBox GUI rather than the (buggy) old PearPC Control panel.
Thoughts? Suggestions? What you see now may have a few unclear parts, or might need some additions.

Re: New PearPC Setup Guide
Are you using the latest version from the official site of the frontend? I tried it on my 64 bit Windows 7 and it worked. Unless you got that error at a particular point in the setup process.

Re: New PearPC Setup Guide
No idea. Google tells me it is an ambigious Windows error. Maybe your download is corrupt. Re-download, perhaps?

Re: New PearPC Setup Guide
That's nothing to worry about. AVG detects the same thing when you've got a little archive that expands into something huge. In this case you've got a small archive that expands into a 6 gb (or whatever size) hard disk image.
It detects it as a virus as someone could make a malicious file that does the same thing.
MS Security Essentials, on the other hand, doesn't detect that kind of "virus."
