Please Help!

Post by Pinky_Suavo »

Hi all,

I'm a new member and a total amateur to setting up PearPC. I have gone through the setup process as described at this page http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/pearpc_setup

I click on start and I get a screen that appears and disappears in a flash. The log file shows the following;

I am running an Intel Core Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20Ghz with 3.5GB Ram at 2.2Ghz

Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Many thanks in advance

hi,

How much memory did you set for PearPC to use? It seems it wants to use memory that is occupied by some other program. you can try to limit memory use to 128 or 256 mb. (depending on which OS you want to install).

Hi Cat_7,

Thank you so much for your lightning fast reply! I have adjusted it down to the lowest setting (128mb) and to other settings but no joy. I intended to use tiger as the os.

Best wishes

Hi,

You might try a fresh restart of your pc, and then close as many programs that start-up automatically. (such as skype or other automatically starting tools).
But I have no idea which program might actually be the culprit.

Ah ok, I have got a lot of processes running in the background. I will try that and let you know shortly. Thank you again.
