Oh. I remember the GUI for '94 did have a tab for Ethernet. I guess it was just a placeholder.
BTW, I also tried SoftMac (ugh), but the same "not 24-bit addressing" error comes up.
Rather than patching Basilisk II, is there some change that could be made to System 6, forcing it to run?
EDIT: A follow-up to my previous question. Maybe "Connectix Optima" will do the trick?
Optima is an INIT which allows Macintosh systems to operate in 32-bit mode under System 6. It is not compatible with Multifinder or System 7, and requires 32-bit clean applications.
The question, would this be useful in the boot sequence? It's pretty much useless if it is used only after
System 6 has booted.
