Sound files in Macintosh System 7.5.x

It is simply too long away.

I want to place a sound file in the Startup Items Folder, to simulate the startup sound.

I do have the various startup sounds as a .WAV file, from the BasiliskII download page. I do have Resedit 2.1.2 working. And I do have all compression tools (Binhex, Stuffit Expander, Compactor, MacBinary, Diskcopy 4.2 and Diskcopy 6.3) that are need to make files travel.

I will try to convert an alert sound resource to a sound file (to have half the story.)

I would be happy to receive instructions on creating a sound file, converting a wav to a sound file.

I recall using SoundEdit, when I was playing around with System sounds.
It was an earlier version than this: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/soundedit-16
It escapes me right now, what I used as input file. Some were recorded with the mic, but audio was most likely from CD.

SoundApp should be able to convert from Windows WAVE to system sound format. Also 68k version still available:

I found the site, and downloaded the most current version 2.7.3 of Nov 13, 2000 from here:
http://www.filewatcher.com/m/soundapp68K.sit.598237-0.html

SoundApp68K converted Boing.wav easily to a Macintosh sound file (file type 'sfil', creator 'rmov') and I put it into Startup Items.
