Hello!
First off, I do not know much of the whole classic emulation matter.
I own a MBP 10.9.1
What I want is: to play Spelunx.
What I got so far: to run BasiliskII.
My problem now is: I need Hypercard to play Spelunx (the game right now gives me this "Error number t63 occurred.").
Downloaded it(http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/hypercard-player), got Stuffit for emulation, expanded within BasiliskII, tried to open then it said:
"Shrinkwrap engine has reported an error
Error -36"
I tried to expand it outside of emulation it said:
"Unable to execute „HyperCard Player 2.4.1.smi“.
This file cannot be used on this file system. Copy to a Macintosh HFS or Macintosh."
What do I use then?
I don't know if thats an obvious problem and I just don't get it, as I said I have no clue. Anyway, I'd really love to play Spelunx.
Help anyone?

Re: Hypercard Problem?
If you are talking about the game pack hosted at Macintoshgarden, (http://macintoshgarden.org/games/spelun ... r-seudo-bw) it might be most simple to use MiniVMac. http://minivmac.sourceforge.net/doc/download.html
Start MiniVMac, drag a System disk image onto the emulator´s window and drag the Spelunx.img there too.
You can inflate the Spelunx_bw.img_sit file with The Unarchiver in OSX before dragging it to MinVMac.
If you have no System ready for MiniVMac, you may try this one: http://ubuntuone.com/1Kl6i9tVBWK9fMjlQc1j3U
The needed ROM for MiniVMac is hosted at "RedundantRobot SheepShaver Tutorial".
You want the file called "Mac Classic ROM".
You may notice that the Spelunx.img from MG already comes with a HyperCard Player.
Happy gaming!
BTW: I could not run Spelunx on BII or SS at a quick trial, but there may be a problem on my side.

Re: Hypercard Problem?
Hey 24bit!
Thank you for replying!
I actually got it to work with BasiliskII!
Some MiniGames inside Spelunx don't work properly, but maybe that's the case with every emulator?
I tried to use MiniVMac before BII, because it seemed simpler... couldn't handle it, haha, I don't know.
Thanks anyways!!

Re: Hypercard Problem?
Yes, emulators have had a hard time with Hypercard. For example, games that use fade transitions, etc are very slow.

Re: Hypercard Problem?
Could you share the solution you found? I'm having the same problem trying to install Hypercard on the same version (753) in order to play Evocation and Spy! I get the exact same error message when the installation is about to complete.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Emulator is set up and runs fine. I installed Stuffit Expander with no problems.

Re: Hypercard Problem?
How did you wind up getting the game to work in Basilisk II? I am getting the same error message when trying to make a game work on my computer, and I still have not been able to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!
