Getting running game into Windowed Mode, Basilisk II,Mac 7.5

Post by SanJuan »

Greetings.

I am having a bit of a problem. I am currently playing Chu Teng and I'm right at the end....but I need to pause the game by pressing outside of the game window because that's about the only way to beat one of the bosses.

The problem is I don't know how to get the game into windowed mode. It always starts on fullscreen and I can't figure out a way to do that. I'd really appreciate the help.

Are you using BasiliskII for OSX or BasiliskII for Windows, and which version/build do you use?

Using a windows version (at least using a version on windows XP)

Got it in a torrent due to not being very goot at setting these things up.

Not sure about the version of B II though. How do I find that out exactly, I'm a bit of an amateur when it comes to these things.

Also thanks for your speedy response.

I understand you downloaded a pre-configured BasiliskII for Windows setup with MacOS installed and you tried it on XP. Difficult to tell what could be wrong because you did not do the configuring yourself and so you cannot tell us how it was done and what software was used.

I know more about OSX than about Windows, so I will leave it to Windows users to try and help you further. For starters, look inside the BasiliskII folder for a file "prefs", open it in a text editor like Notepad and post the content here.

Hm, I though that BasiliskII opened full screen and that you need it in window mode. But when you say that you need to click outside the game window, you probably mean outside the game window within BasiliskII.

I do not know the game and I do not know if it can run in window mode. I see that you have BasiliskII set to open in 640x480 resolution. Have you tried setting the screen resolution in MacOS Monitors control panel to a larger value, like 800x600?

I know it can be run that way because of a video series on youtube where the player uses precisely this method to succeed.

I haven't tried that. Might be worth a shot.
