Help - trying to run BasiliskII on Mac Sierra 10.12.2

Wondering if someone could help me figure out what I am doing wrong.

I have downloaded BasiliskII_Intel_20140301.zip from http://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewto ... f=6&t=7361

I have followed the instructions and are using BasiliskII in my folder: /Users/{MyUser}/Downloads/BasiliskII/

When I press "Start" in the BasiliskIIGUI app, I receive the error:

"Basilisk II Error: Could not start BasiliskII (No such file or directory)."

I have confirmed that the app in my /BasiliskII/ directory is called "BasiliskII" however it looks like the GUI app can't find it?

Would appreciate any insight! Thanks!

There is a new security feature in macOS 10.12 that may prevent a newly installed BasiliskII to start. The workaround that works with SheepShaver will probably also work for BasiliskII:

- Copy BasiliskII from the BasiliskII folder to the desktop
- Trash the original BasiliskII
- Move the copy to the BasiliskII folder

Note 1: BasiliskIIGUI (BasiliskIIGUI.app) and BasiliskII (BasiliskII.app) must reside together in the same folder.
Note 2: After configuring and saving the settings in BasiliskIIGUI, you can also launch BasiliskII directly, it does not need to be done from the GUI. As BasiliskII is not code-signed, the first time you will need to start it by using "open" from the Finder contextual menu. (Right-click or control-click on the icon to get the contextual menu.)

Yep, thats a new feature in macOS Sierra. ;)
In short, three things are needed: BII app, Macintosh ROM, bootable disk image.
The GUI is nice to have, but not obligatory. (I´m using it too, usually.)
Make all settings in the GUI and click OK at the error message.
Below is an example of my settings, a BasiliskII folder resides in Downloads.
RAM and key codes may be set as you wish.

Next double click BsiliskII.app. If your settings are correct, the emulator will boot.

The DL you pointed to does not provide ROM and boot disk.
Feel free to try with this disk image http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macos-753-emulators
and the ROM from RedundantRobot. Look for the file Performa.ROM.
Names and file locations do not matter much, as long as all paths for BII are specified correctly.

Apple fortified security settings in 10.12. You may have to allow installation from any source in system settings.

Edit: After running the BasiliskII.app, the "Start" button in the BII GUI is working.
