Executor was the Coolest Thing Ever in my book some sixteen years ago, and I've mused sometimes about taking a swing at the source to see if anything useful could be done with it. Being inexperienced with large code projects, especially ones I've had nothing to do with, it's a bit of a pipe dream, though.

I know there have been a few old attempts at making it do something:

Does anyone here know if someone's been tinkering with it much lately? Is there no hope for using it for something practical?

I wasn't able to compile it, sadly. I check github every few months to see if Cliff has done anything with it, but it looks like he's finished with it... and is actively involved with a number of other projects. You could perhaps try to contact him and see what's up.
