oK...I have been trying to get a game working for my cousin. I have the game it is called enchanted scepters which I downloaded from here: http://macintoshgarden.org/games/enchanted-scepters

First, stuffit would not see the file. Then from reading other threads here i saw that I probably needed to use stuffit 5.5. So, I installed basilisk II with stuffit 5.5. It says I need to have dropstuff to get it to work I cant seem to be able to open the sit file of dropstuff that I downloaded. I'm not sure why but stuffit just wont work on the dropstuff. I have been messing with this for days so im looking for some help or maybe someone could put it into an image for me. Im running these from a windows machine. thanks in advance....

Have you tried installing DropStuff using our download:

http://www.emaculation.com/basilisk/ala ... instal.sit

Should work. Worked for me in Basilisk II running Mac OS 8.1

Thank you for the response. This is pretty much where I'm having problems. I have system software 7.5.3. When I run stuffit it and open the dropstuff install it only gives me one file dropstuff 5.5 install which when I try to open says it cannot be opened because the application program that created it cannot be found. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I have messed around with it a lot and can't figure it out....

Someone might move the desired game into an IMG container to be mounted in MiniVMac.
Sorting out the Stuffit issue would be preferrable of course, for long term.
I must have TataMisia´s image for BII somewhere, including Stuffit lite and else.
Clockwise, would you mind a pointer here to MF?

Edit: Silly question - I´d better thought twice.

Maybe use a private message for sending things that might upset me.

I haven't tried Unstuffing it in 5.5 (Although for me it always works), but the .sit file in the Macintosh Garden unpacks just fine with StuffIt 3.5. If you want, I can give you a disk image with StuffIt 3.5, or I can give you the disk image of Enchanted Scepters itself.

For StuffIt in Basilisk, you should be able to use StuffIt Deluxe or Expander 5.5 just fine. I can give you my working copy of StuffIt for Basilisk as well. It unpacks almost any .sit archive you will ever find, and I installed the plugin which conveniently lets you ALT-U (is ALT the Option key or the Apple key?) to unpack any archive you have selected.

*EDIT* Here is the disk image for Enchanted Scepters (just unpacked them)
Here's the disk image for StuffIt 3.5. This one is for System 6.0.8 in Mini vMac (not sure if it'll work in older systems). It unpacks some archives you will find.
Here's the disk image for StuffIt 5.5. This one is for Basilisk II, and unpacks pretty much any archive you will find. Place the extensions in your System Folder to get the Magic Menu (the aforementioned plugin), which gives handy and easy shortcuts for .sit archives.
