The II series ROMS all seem to be software interchangeable.

The II ROM, while being physically incompatible with the IIx ROM, will boot in emulation from the image.

The IIx ROM is essentially the same as the II (FDHD), SE FDHD, SE/30 ROM, and the IIcx ROM. The IIfx and IIsi ROMs are physically interchangeable with the IIx and SE/30, while the IIci ROM should be software compatible.

However only the II and IIx ROMs are enabled under Mini vMac. Anyone know how to enable the others? It would definitely improve one's abilities to find the proper ROM and allow for some 32-bit clean software experiments on the II emulator.

It seems to me the source code just need a checksum and ROM definition added to be selected in the proper build. Anyone have any experience with this?

It should be possible to run OS 8.1 and therefore HFS+ on Mini vMac using the IIfx or IIsi ROM.

This would solve a lot of problems with Snow Leopard.

I don't think the current Mini vMac II support 32-bit clean mode at all, according to my test, if Connectix MODE32 is installed on Mini vMac IIx and enabled 32-bit mode in Memory control panel, the system will no longer boot.

Is it legal to download a rom of a hard copy game you have on the net? Why do ROM sites exist and are Emulators legal to download and play even if you don't own the system? And what about same game but different region compatability?
