Screenshot competition

Post by Stephen Coates »

I was just looking through some topics here with screenshots of lots of emulators, one with the idea of a screenshot competition.

I thought that might be a good idea. We could all post a nice screenshot which includes some kind of emulation, plonk them all on a page on the emaculation site and vote for the best one.

Even i might be able to add one as I have been using emulators again recently.

What do you think?

Hey people, why we didn't do that 'contest' anyway?

Could be interesting how you all customized the emulations

Here is mine one:

SheepShaver running AutoCAD R12. Mac OS 9.0.4 with FPU software emulation. I believe this was the last mac release developed. It runs stable but slow under SheepShaver and BasiliskII Jit (not build 142 though).

Here's my screenshot showing SheepShaver. Can't remember what version of SheepShaver it is as I installed it quite a while ago.

I used the MacOSX Aqua theme in System 7 on BII. I will still have the disk image somewhere. I drew the screen onto a piece of paper in pencil a few years. I will have to dig out the book and scan it in.

How can I use that theme?

Here's mine....

(click on the thumbnail to magnify)

Host OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Background image...... well.... it's the initial impact of a water droplet hitting a body of water. *cough*

Emulators:
  • NullDC 1.0.3 NAOMI (Dreamcast/Naomi arcade emulator)
Kawaks 1.5.8 (Capcom CPS2 arcade emulator)
Microsoft VirtualPC 2007: Windows XP Pro - SP 3
SheepShaver 2.3-Pre (May 14 2006) (we all know what this is...)
In the NullDC, I'm emulating Capcom vs SNK PRO.
In Kawaks, I'm emulating Marvel vs Capcom.
In VirtualPC, I'm running Firefox 3, looking at the Apple Store.
In SheepShaver, I'm running Mac OS 8.6, running iCab 3, looking at images of my beloved Pepsi Blue (discontinued).

Nice collection of emulators, Kikkoman!

Do you use any other computer emulators? I think I might like to write a bit about some new emulators in the wiki, and I'm always looking for suggestions...

I used to use Basilisk II before SheepShaver was ported to Windows. I also have the FCE Ultra (NES emulator), but rarely play games on it anymore. And I do have a copy of the old ZSNES emulator lying around in a USB stick somewhere....

Also, I have ePSXe (playstation 1 emulator) strictly for Castlevania: SOTN only, and some old version of MAME to run the Simpsons, TMNT and TMNT:Turtles in Time games.
