Whenever I try to play Nanosaur or Bugdom - both games that came on the Mac Install Disk - SheepShaver crashes!

The reason why I spent all these hours trying to get SheepShaver to work was to play these games!!! So close, yet so far :(

Any ideas?

I suppose you could start by saying whether you're using Linux or Windows, your version of Mac OS, where you got your ROM from, and so on.

Or are you using something prepackaged from Redundant Robot or Chubby Bunny or whatever?

Hello,
I do not know bugdom, but i am pretty sure, that Nanosaur demands a MPC603e or better.
SheepShaver is emulating a 604, so there will be no hope for you for the time beeing.
Sorry!

Those games were bundled with iMacs (and possibly PowerBooks) and thus came on the install and restore disks for those models. As far as I know, the games were never provided on general retail system install disks.

I believe that both games rely on 3D video hardware that is not emulated by SheepShaver. If that is so, they will not run in SheepShaver.

Hello,
Nanosaur version 1 was relased as donation-ware on one of the MacWorld CD's.
You were asked to make some kind of donation if you played the game frequently.
This is what the manual says:

Quote:
System Requirements:

- At least a 120MHz 604e Macintosh or a 180MHz 603e Macintosh.
- Note that Nanosaur will not run on a 601 Macintosh!

- A game capable 3D Accelerator card such as the RageII or Rage Pro from ATI.

- QuickDraw 3D 1.5 or newer.

- QuickTime 2.5 or newer.

- DrawSprockets 1.1.2 or newer.

If someone should be interested in that free version and still owns the required hardware, I might mail the file.
But clearly SheepShaver won't run it.

Greetings!
