Hi Gang!
I am thinking about trying sheepsvaer to run a Mac 9.0 application thats talks to a scanner through a GPIB interface (IEEE-488). The program also has to chat with a dongle on the old ADB bus. I'm runing this on a 'nwere' (lol) PowerMac G3? (Digital Audio) with PCI slots which contain both the GPIB board, and an Imate ADB to USB adaptor, as this machine doesn't have ADB.
Anyone know if I can access these devices through a sheepshaver interface, running OS 9.0? I think that OSX has some 'features' that allow, for example, the classic window to "Take control" of the imate adaptor, but would this functionality be available for sheepshaver?
I'm not sure if there would be any advantage in runing sheepshaver versus just trying to get the program to run in classic mode (OSX 10.4), any thoughts?
Also, if I can find the necessary windows device drivers for these two devices, any chance of the same running in the windows environment using the windows version of sheepshaver? I'd probably run the thing under windows 7 64 bit. There are Windows GPIB drivers out there - not sure about the imate though....
