as the the subject says, i am too stupid to install mac os 7.5.3 on sheepshaver...

i tried the how-to instructions http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/she ... os_x_setup but the different is: i don't have a real install disk, so i tried to do it how it worked on basilisk ii... adding the disktool_os80.image, creating + adding mac os 753 volume and creating + adding installerparts volume (of corse in that order)... but when i start sheepshaver, it says "sorry, a system error occurred. - illegal instruction - to temporarily turn off extensions, restart and hold down the shift key." (what has no effect when i do it)

i also tried to do it exactly as the instruction says... but (i guess because i don't have a real disk) it doesn't work.

my romfile is extracted with tomeviewer from the romupdate 1.0 - that should be the oldworld rom, or do i have to use a newworld rom?

and btw the installerparts are the 19 parts from the apple site which are linked somewhere on the emaculation-site (the first part comes as an .smi)

while i was getting mad of my disability, i also tried to add every single part to the volumes in the hope that would help somehow... of corse it does not! :D

Please try googling for redundantrobot and download the Old World ROM.
Second, download this: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macinto ... disk-image
You have to unzip the file and select it in the SS GUI of course.
That should get SS up and running, as anything lower than OS8.5 needs the Old World ROM.
The image may not be perfect for SS, but you can create a new file easily and install a OS of your taste.
Hoping this will cure the depression!

When you do not specifically need System 7.5.3 and could use a newer MacOS, you can also find on Macintosh Garden a MacOS 9.0.4 install CD disk image that can be used with SheepShaver. It is even specifically labeled as suitable for SheepShaver.
(MacOS 9.0.4 can be used with either new world rom or old world rom.)

So the game is running now.
For OS9, Ronald already pointed out, that you should try this CD image: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/mac-os-904
In case you should not be able to boot SS with it, you can always install the software to a fresh hardfile after booting with 7.5.
