Everytime I put anything other than Millions and Thousands , the screen goes black and white(or should I say "messed up"?) . After I switch into another different one and goes back , it finally shows color . But still , in both B&W and color conditions , the screen graphics is extremely choppy . There's alot of white rectangles in the screen , and system graphics are incomprehensible(not literally) . Any idea what's going on? All games keep asking me to switch to 256 colors , and most of them force me to . The graphics are much more better and seems more fit with the game than 256 .

When you want to discuss an issue, please give information about your setup, which build, what kind of host machine and host system, which guest system, which possibly relevant settings, etc.

No, I just googled your laptop and told people which one you had. No problems with b142 and the latest from SVN.

Awkward . Somehow , the Macs are starting to not like me . First , after messing around with the memory control panel , Basilisk142 cannot be used anymore . Even if I changed to a different computer , somehow , the problem's still here(even with a different volume!) . After that , there goes this monitor problem . There's a new problem which I explained in my new post in the SheepShaver section .

Hi,

Have you tried removing the pram files from the basilisk142 folder?

Best,
Cat_7

No . There is too much configuration in the PRAM . Reloading it is a big work . I'll consider , though .

:?:

The pram file is automatically generated. It contains a lot of information, but only information from a few settings that a user can change in some MacOS control panels. Most control panels save settings in their preferences files and those settings are not affected by removal of the pram file (equivalent to Zapping PRAM on an actual hardware Mac).

Nope . Doesn't work a bit . All the settings are the same , and the problem's still here as well . Do you think it's something to do with the disk problems I mentioned in the other post?

Note : My Mac OS is EXTREMELY customized!

BTW , Basilisk II crashes quite often . Besides that , the Mac OS itself sometimes bombs itself with no warning . Right now , Basilisk II keeps crashing everytime I turn on AOL .

From the few emulators I set up already, I would consider trying a different host OS.
There are some that definitely work very good with BII (or SS).
E.g. W2K, XP, Mandriva, (Snow) Leopard.
Your Inspiron6400 (T2300 GMA950) should be able to run snow leo natively, with some tinkering for the graphics may be.
If you have plenty of room on your HDD, you might try some of the OS as virtual machine and decide wether you like them.
Do you have some other boxes for testing may be?

What? VirtualBox? What do you mean box?

Also , I'm not capable of downloading such a huge OS . Besides , I don't have any CDROMS to use . I always have trouble in virtual machines when trying to install OSes . Never mind , though . I'll find a way to get used to it . Besides , I've been with this problem for quite awhile .
