Shared Folder

Post by scidude »

Hello,
I have been playing around with BasiliksII and I am having some trouble. I am using a MacBook Pro with 10.6.7 and I am running System 7.0.1 in Basilisk. I can not seem to get the shared folder working. When I start up System 7, I get an error that "A driver for the selected AppleTalk connection could not be found. The built-in Local-Port connection will be used instead."

Can anyone lend me some assistance? I want to update to 7.5.5.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

The shared folder does not work with System 7.0.1. I am not sure which is the earliest system version that can use the shared folder feature, it does work with 7.5.3.

I wouldn't worry about AppleTalk, it does not work in BasiliskII anyway. The error message will probably not appear when you change network settings in 7.0.1. Try disabling AppleTalk in the Chooser.

How do you intend to "update" from 7.0.1 to 7.5.5? Why not install 7.5.3 in BasiliskII and update that to 7.5.5?

I only have the 19 disk images of 7.5.3, and I cannot open them in OS X. I read that if I started out with 7.0.1, I could use the classic mode there to create the disk image and then update.

Is there an easier way?

Also, I disabled AppleTalk, but I keep getting the error message.
