GrapeDesk v1.2

Post by Silent Flamer »

I am ready to start making GrapeDesk v1.2 . Here are the changes I am going to make :

[1] I have fixed the Applesoft BASIC program error , where GrapeDesk crashes when you type in an invalid answer in a disk utility . (ONERR fixes this)
[2] It will now have GET lines , so you don't have to hit <Return> on prompts that don't need specific answers .
[3] It will now have organized descriptions . Every disk utility will have the same descriptions to avoid confusion , and text will be more comprehensible .
[4] The next public copy will not be registered under Emaculation :( . GrapeDesk will still be registered , but no name will be specified .
[5] Welcome a new disk utility ; RENAME ITEM
[6] We definitely need a new Grape Guide .

As I have said , those are changes . These are the obvious functions that stay the same :

[1] The Desk Accesories stay the same .
[2] The Applications menu is the same .
[3] The password function is not installed (unless by user request)
[4] The code for inputs stay the same (Sorry , ON...GOTO , we are using string variables) .
[5] As stated in 4 , all the menus had string inputs . If they had normal integer inputs , giving any alphabet will leave a mess .
[6] You can still run GrapeDesk from anywhere , even from programs . (such as application menus) :o
[7] GrapeDesk is still a Applesoft BASIC program . :( (You can't type BYE and run GrapeDesk from there) :o (No need for BRUN or - ; RUN will do)
[8] The new startup screen layout stays the same .
[9] It still uses the FBPT A2 MS (I don't know any neater way to do it)
[10] Still no Easter Eggs , people .
[11] It is still under the FBPT , although not official (explained in another post) .
[12] It is still text-based . :( :o
[13] It is still free . 8) :P :o
[14] It is monochrome compatible . :o

Well , that's pretty much all I know of (or can type) . Anyone wants any changes to this list? I will start compiling when everyone confirms that production should continue . If there's no reply in two days , I will continue (with notice) .

So , as I have said , any objections (or suggestions)?

Alright , I just continue without your comments . In fact , I'm thinking of deleting this Emaculation.com account , considering that pretty much nobody will help me with GrapeDesk .

Well, what do you expect? I suppose very few people here have a working Apple II or run a Apple II emulator.

I have a free day, if you can upload a disk image I'll try. Might have to start windows if I can't find an ][ for Linux.

Never mind . I'll just keep upgrading and I'm gonna sell it one day .
