It's currently a work-in-progress.. but when you run it, you'll get the overall jist of things. Just one thing to note for now, your PearPC binaries must be in the \installdir\PearPC folder. I've included Richard Goodwin's "05.31.04, 12AMEDT" standard build with this.
Release plan for PearPCFront:
Beta 1: Today
Beta 2: Hopefully by Friday/Latest Sunday - Will have mannny more Wizards
Beta 3: 2 Weeks - Most (if not all) features and documentation will be done. This will be one of those "lets find all the bugs before we call it final" releases.
RTW v1: 2 Weeks + A few days
If the PearPC authors integrate this into PearPC (so this gui is not a seperate download), PearPC will be as good as Connectix/Microsoft Virtual PC. :D
And you need to include Header/Subheader information in some of the Wizard dialog boxes.
Also, is there a way to specific different ppc executables for different VMs? I'm using several builds right now (SDL, 0.2pre, etc) and I have them named differently.
Not right now, however I was going to include that soon.
The problem with PearPC is, that it can only be run once. So the only way to have two vms running is two copies of PearPC. My app needs to know where they all are .
The reason why you want the feature isn't my reason for why we need it but, it will be there .

Well I don't mean running two builds simultaneously, but rather closing one and starting a different build. I want to make sure there's a way I can specify that in this frontend.
It might just be me, but whenever I browse for or save a config file My Computer shows up blank. You can still choose any place in there from the drop down menu but I figured you'd want to know.
Bugs that I know of so far:
Image creation is borked. Whoops .
File -> Exit does not work 8)
You might get a video.x error: place the video.x file in a folder with your images. (this is fixed in the next build)
Nice, but it would be truely amazing if you use APIs to grab onto the PearPC window and place it inside the configure tool (as an MDI form or something like that).
Actually, I like it this way where the PPC window is free-floating. That way when you change resolutions in PPC you don't have the GUI still stuck to it.
Yeah you're right. I love url hijacking and a good firm bottom!
I can see my girlfriend sneeking up behind me an starting to second guess my convictions...."What are you doing" she asks, and I reply "Oh, well, I no longer like things pear shaped"
