Re: Unix Root/Shared Folder HELP
No shared folder, but a similar feature is available in SheepShaver for Windows. From the setup manual:: In the GUI, Volumes tab: - Enable “My Computer” icon on your Mac desktop (external file system) : when checked, SheepShaver gives access to host drives. - Mount drives : shows the host drives tha...

Re: SheepSaver running off boot image but won't install OS
The system will only run from a read-only CD. Our SheepShaver for Windows setup guide tells you: Note: If you are using a CD image, you may need to right-click the image (in Windows), and set it to “read only” in the “properties” menu. This will solve the “The system software on the startup disk onl...

Re: SheepSaver running off boot image but won't install OS
You are using a bare OS9 boot disk, probably downloaded from Redundant Robot. It is a limited OS9 System Folder installation only and does not contain an installer You will need a Mac installation disk image, like the retail international English Mac OS 9.0.4 install CD image that can be downloaded ...

Maybe you are confused by the, not so obvious, dialog in System 6. The top text box in the dialog is in fact a drop down menu that enables you to start navigating to other disks.

Re: Sheepshaver won't open on M1 Pro Mac (version 12.0)
The issue must be on the host or in your SheepShaver setup. Things to try: 1. Quit all applications running on your MacBook, then restart your MacBook and launch SheepShaver without first starting other applications. 2. In SheepShaver preferences set Ram Size to 256 or 512 (MB) (Note that after any ...

Re: Jumpy cursor in MacOS 12.4 Monterey
1. Which is your setting in preferences for Refresh Rate? It should be "Dynamic". 2. Maybe you used an older version of SheepShaver before. Older versions use the hardware cursor by default in window mode, newer versions use the software cursor in both window mode and full-screen mode by d...

Re: Strategic Conquest (game)
You are with the Open dialog of Stuffit Expander in the Stuffit Expander folder. The game's stuffit archive is not there. You will have to navigate to where the archive is. Best first copy (drag) the archive from ImportFl to your "Untitled" virtual hard drive. I suppose you run System 6 so...

Re: Sheepshaver won't open on M1 Pro Mac (version 12.0)
As noted in the setup manual, the old world rom file can be used for System 7.5.3 through MacOS 9.0.4, while the new world rom file can be used for MacOS 8.5 through MacOS 9.0.4 and is best for MacOS 8.6 through MacOS 9.0.4.

Re: Sheepshaver won't open on M1 Pro Mac (version 12.0)
This is the weirdest thing to try to solve the first problem, and even more weirdly it worked. I'm now able to double click the .app to start SheepShaver. Thank you. This is a security feature in macOS that quarantines an application that may not be intentionally installed by the user. It c...

Re: Sheepshaver won't open on M1 Pro Mac (version 12.0)
Weird indeed. I assume that SheepShaver is set up as described in our setup manual with SheepShaver application and all additional files inside the SheepShaver folder. Because you did the setup while running the SheepShaver executable, paths to files in prefs may be different from when you would hav...

Re: Strategic Conquest (game)
importfl will only import the data fork, making most old Mac files and all old Mac application files useless. See: https://www.gryphel.com/c/minivmac/extras/importfl/index.html If the files are on a disk image, that disk image may be mountable in Mini vMac. If the files are in a stuffit archive, you...

Re: SheepShaver Installation and User Guides
Both "ROM" and "Mac OS ROM" should work and both work here with the latest universal build with no rom file name (yet) in prefs. Are you sure you did not have the file name extension hidden instead of removed, or a maybe just "rom" removed instead of ".rom" wh...

No need to move the post. BasiliskII and SheepShaver share much code and thus share many of these features. Apparently this forwarding feature is much older than we knew.
