Re: QEMU PPC Mac OS X 10.1 Startup Chime

You can use mame, "mame pmac6100 -ramsize 62M" to play the sound actually on the ROM, however nothing else really works, only the chime, and a question mark disk :)

Re: cannot compile screamer (qemu ppc patched with audio) on fedora 38 linux [solved]

I think screamer branch is behind upstream qemu a bunch of commits, and has some bugs related to the build. I got it to build doing this: 0. Install needed depedencies (can vary from distro to distro) 1. git clone -b screamer https://github.com/mcayland/qemu.git qemu-screamer (do not do -r recursiv...

Qemu + Q800 + EMILE

Sorry, I am having a memory lane attack, and saw on mailing list for the q800 patch (https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2023-07/msg00114.html) that linux should be able to boot via EMILE. Has anyone figured out how to get it to boot, I can't get the toolbox rom (or qemu) to boot with i...

qemu + netbsd video

Has anyone got video working, booting netbsd from within mac os 8.1(through netbsd booter)? I am able to access everything through serial and ssh fine(can even forward x11 apps), just wondering if it were possible to configure booter to have console video, instead of plain white screen after boot. I...

Re: GSOC qemu Boot Mac OS >= 8.5 on PowerPC system

hi neozeed, what repo did you build openbios with, and what repo did you get the qemu code with? I keep getting "no valid state has been set by load or init-program" in openbios when trying to use my mac os 9 cd. What version of mac os 9 did you use?

Downgrade ibook g3 Firmware?

Hello, I recently bought a ibook g3 clamshell blueberry from a popular auction site, and I read that it was able to boot into OS 8.6. It came installed with 9.1 with the newest firmware installed. When I try to boot into the 8.6 cdroms, it just won't boot. Same thing if I copy the 8.6 system folder ...

Yes, that should work. But you have to find a way to extract all of them into that folder.

Hmm, it seems like you people are loosing focus from the keyboard/mouse. Hmm, ill check the sheepshaver bug datebase and see if i can find anything simular. If not, you can try to make a bug report, and see if you can get a response. Also, I would give you a copy of the latest from cvs to see if it ...

No, 8.6 is probably the best rom available. What macos version are you using? Also, what exactly does sheepshaver do when it doesn't respond? Does it just sit there until you kill the proccess? Maybe theres a memory leak, did you check the memory usage?

It takes a while to figure out how to compile, and it requires you to use cygwin and mingw compilers. I recently did a cross compile from linux to windows if you want to try that version, it was compiled directly from source.

Yeh, that definitly seems like its the problem. I don't know if you can change the locale in windows, but if you can, try to temporarilly do that. This could either be a gtk-runtime bug or Sheepshaver, but it is definitly a bug and not your fault. I would try posting http://sourceforge.net/forum/?gr...

Thats weird. Looks like an internationalization error. What language is that? Can you try switching your operating language to english just to see if it works?

For clarification, exact definition from the wikipedia is: In computing, Pango is an open source library for rendering internationalized texts integrated into GTK+ 2. The name pango is from Greek "Pan" (Παν; lit. all) + Japanese "Go" (語; lit. language). Generally, when your progr...

Pango is for fonts. Make sure gtk runtime envorment is installed, and the correct version. Pango is real, not an april fools joke. If that doesn't work, tell me and ill get you a version with it statically compiled, or send you the dll directly.

Windows SheepShaver CVS doesn't build-(dyngen)

./dyngen.exe -o basic-dyngen-ops.hpp obj/basic-dyngen-ops.o dyngen: ret or jmp expected at the end of helper_op_invoke Thats result of compiling on windows platform for cvs right now. I can't figure out how to fix that proble, in fact that hpp file has some assembly in it, which i don't understand. ...

Latest Sheepshaver CVS build for linux (gtk2)

This is a snapshot from cvs, absolute latest and probably not so stable. I have built both a RPM and a DEB for this build. Download RPM (fedora core 3 +): Here DEB (Ubuntu+maybe debian): Here These builds were built by me, using gcc version 4.0.2 20050808 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.0.1-4ubuntu9). These...

Sheepshaver 2.3 Unofficial stable gtk2 build(better)

I have built a version of Sheepshaver using the gtk2 frontend that is in the codebase, and this version seems to be more stable and not crash as much as the official Sheepshaver 2.3 build.(I have no clue why, its the same source code. Maybe because I compiled it with gcc 4.x?) I have built both a R...
