macOS Sierra public beta 6 -> SheepShaver
Good news. I Installed macOS Sierra public beta 6 on an early 2009 iMac (*) and it seems that SheepShaver runs fine without any issues yet in 32bit mode (64bit mode isn't working). So unless something unexpectedly changes in the final release of macOS Sierra we can still use SheepShaver on the lates...

Re: OS X El Capitan (10.11) public beta 1
Based on your current setup, I'm tempted to suggest putting this off until things actually break, Seems to me a very good advice for now. Things run in OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and may still run in OSX 10.12. Apple will support 10.11 until 10.13 is released. That will give us at least two years respi...

Thx for the explanation.adespoton wrote:. . . Your choices for running Classic Mac PPC software are currently:
SheepShaver running 9.0.4 (either inside VirtualBox or on the host)
Using a PowerPC Mac running 10.4.11 or earlier . . .

This way, the only thing that needs to keep support going is VirtualBox Am I right in thinking with VirtualBox it is also possible to use OSX 10.4 (Tiger) skip Sheepshaver and use the build i...

OS X El Capitan (10.11) public beta 1
Installed OS X El Capitan (10.11) public beta 1 (plus the additional beta update to solve 32bit issues with some apps) on an external HD. Fortunately SheepShaver is working flawless for me :-) More info about the OSX El Capitan beta: http://forums.macrumors.com/forums/os-x-el-capitan-10-11.184/ Off ...

Re: SheepShaver issues with OSX Yosemite Beta
Hello Ronald and Cat_7,
Thanks for your support.
I solved the issues by rebuild LaunchServices.
After this SheepShaver.sheepvm runs fine with latest build 2.4 (01-02-2014) in 32 bit mode
Best,
Wim

SheepShaver issues with OSX Yosemite Beta
I have a couple of issues with OSX Yosemite Beta. When I try to launch SheepShaver.sheepvm with SheepShaver 2.4 (2014-02-01) inside the bundle the app refuses to start up. I can however launch an older version, SheepShaver 2.3 (2009-10-25) outside the bundle and then all works fine (SheepShaver then...

Re: Error message with SheepShaver and OSX 10.9 Mavericks
Was "Rebuilding LaunchServices" among the default options? The issue could well have been with a corrupted LaunchServices database. Hello Ronald, Yes, both LaunchServices and dyld's shared cache where rebuild by OnyX, other files like logs, caches and temp files where deleted. I agree tha...

Re: Error message with SheepShaver and OSX 10.9 Mavericks
UPDATE:
Issue is solved.
I used the diagnostic tool OnyX (version 2.8.1 for Mavericks) and run all default options as set in the Automation section.
After the cleaning and rebuilding of stuff and a computer reboot all is now fine and SheepShaver runs as before without error messages

Re: Error message with SheepShaver and OSX 10.9 Mavericks
It sounds like some of the metadata in the SheepVM bundle itself has been corrupted; possibly it hadn't all been written back to the drive prior to ejecting. Your best bet is probably to build a new SheepVM and move the disk image over to the new one. Thanks for your suggestion, it was one of the t...

A long time ago I give up printing in SheepShaver/OS9 due to many problems. Since I use the OS8/9 extension PrintToPdf (I am sure it is somewhere on the net) to print. In the prefs of PrintToPdf I have set that the output of PrintToPdf, a PDF document, must be created in the UNIX shared folder so wh...

Ronald, I just tried the USB disk on another OSX machine without SheepShaver on that machine and all worked fine instantly without the need of patching anything. Hello, For many years I am using SheepShaver successfuly to run HyperCards stacks with SheepShaver. I now have to put all HyperCard stacks on a USB flash disk (formatted for OSX, journaled) and run them from there. The USB disk is mounted in OSX and I must be able to run HyperCard with SheepShaver f...
