OS 9.0.4 open transport extensions generated these crashes
removing these extensions, the sound is OK (but internet not available).

have you try to use dropstuff to compress and stuffit to uncompress ?

it seems to me i had this kind of problem and i had tried zip and unzip
but files seemed to lose internal ressources,
then i've tried to "stuff"
and unstuff my files successfully.

So, maybe you' can try that...
