Possibly on an old machine or a backup. I'm traveling until Sunday night and the laptop I have here doesn't have it. Let me know next week if you still want it.

If you have the time, could you try this setup and report if it works?

Re: A/UX AppleTalk information
If you have a modern Mac, you can run A/UX 3.0 in QEMU with one click (or two):
https://mendelson.org/auxrunner.html
Its control panels include Network and Mac TCP.

Re: New Mac same setup I can't seem to fix
If you trash your existing copy of the Mac OS 9 app bundle and download a completely fresh copy, you will not find your old screensaver or anything else from your old system. You may want to read the entire download page for further details.

Re: New Mac same setup I can't seem to fix
That special build isn't supported here or anywhere, and if it isn't working for you, then probably you shouldn't use it. There's probably no way to figure out why the Unix folder doesn't work on your setup, for example. But, in case you want to make one more try to make it work, the prefs file that...

Re: Standalone SheepShaver for OS X (add ROM and OS 8.5-9.0.4)
For what it's worth (probably not much) I've updated all my AppleScript-based apps that run System 7 through Mac OS 9.0.4 under macOS. The only difference with earlier versions is that they use current code from kanjitalk755. The forum now allows links to pages with download links for this kind of a...

From the file prefs_items.cpp in the source:
"uS" is an ASCII way of writing microseconds (μS).
Code: Select all

This also doesn't seem to be working for me. I built successfully, and copied the files in the output folder into /Libary/Filesystems (1 file), /usr/local/bin (4 files), and /usr/local/lib (1 file), as this seems to be what is needed. What did you put in those folders? Besides installing fuse-t onl...

Re: can’t find a file on SheepShaver anywhere on the hard drive
If the file was NOT in the "Unix" folder, but on the virtual hard disk image, you may need to recover an old copy of the disk image file from a backup. If the file was in the "Unix" folder, and a copy is not in the macOS folder that corresponds to the "Unix" folder, the...

Yes, the current brew version of fuse-t is 1.0.33, so you need to specify an exact location by clicking on the folder icon indicated in your second-to-last screenshot. I built successfully when I made that change.

Re: A "rootless" Basilisk II app for running old apps
This sounds interesting, would be interested in a download link please to test. Download link: https://mendelson.org/RootlessApp.zip So uh, is this like Basilisk II running a modified, Finder-less System 7 installer disk image with an arbitrary startup item in place of SimpleText? What exactly is t...

Re: Custom fonts on Mac OS 9?
I got interested in this and have a solution, but it's complicated. I couldn't get FontForge to convert it, and the current generation of font converters won't export to the old Mac format. But I found a copy of the ancient TransType 3 software on my Windows machine, and found my old serial number, ...

Re: Has Anyone Seen Paul C. Pratt Online in the Last Year?
Someone updated his web site registration back in June, and it's now good until October 2024:
https://www.whois.com/whois/gryphel.com
A while ago, it looked as if it would expire in October 2023, so someone is active in keeping it active.
