Re: Mac-On-Linux?

Wouldn't it be possible to use MOL within a QEMU PPC Virtual Machine?

System 6 in Basilisk II?

Is System 6 + MacII ROM possible now with Basilisk II? Or should I be looking at MiniVmac or MESS now? :)

There were programs that allowed you to do this pre-OS8.

Knowing the result but attempting anyway: fire up Copland Disk Utility, and see a nice blank space where a real computer would show the attached SCSI drives. Yeah, SheepShaver/Basilisk II don't actually emulate SCSI hard drives, just "disk images". The only way to get around this caveat w...

Q is the only way to run Puppy and its derivatives on Apple hardware right? This sounds like a cool project and I want to try it but I doubt the games will perform well in a VM for the OSX users.
You mean PowerPC Apple PCs? You can run Puppy on an Intel-based Apple PC.

I should record your travels on a map. :P Do you have an estimate of how far you have travelled in this year alone?

If that is not an option, I would take a look at http://www.mandriva.com/en/downloads/free/
The Installer will usually set up a dual boot system with a bootloader for Windows and Mandriva,
as Windows is already on your HDD.
Probably be better to use Mageia now rather than Mandriva.

Recently I read the first four books of the "Deep Space Nine" relaunch, as mentioned above. I liked them. Not great literature, but reading about those characters and places is somewhat... comforting.
I'll have to check them out in the future, once I get through my backlog. :P

Puppy Arcade - An emulator-focused GNU+Linux with Mac Emu

I should mention that Puppy Arcade , a Puppy GNU+Linux derivative built around arcade, game console and computer emulators, includes Basilisk II, Sheepshaver, and MinivMac. I had suggested the developer include these great Mac Emulators in his distro, and he followed through with recent releases. :o...

I installed Mini vMac's IIx Variation . I don't like color , but I still have to keep them for Basilisk II and SheepShaver . So , I kept it in a nice grayscale color . Since I'm aiming for Black and White videos , I should have put it in B&W . But , I'll test grayscale along . Anyone knows wher...

I live a very cheap life. I work really hard and spend only what I have to day-to-day. That's how I afford it! I'm living in China now... so every day is sort of like traveling. Girlfriend and I take a trip to one new city each month. That sort of "domestic" travel is very cheap. Life in ...

I read that one when I was in highschool, Ambassador! It is my all-time favorite Trek tie-in novel. Was it written by Peter David? Loved that one, though haven't read it in years. Yeah, it's a Peter David one. I like his take on the Borg in this book; it strikes me a lot more true the original conc...

Chretien actually got a majority with only 38.4% of the vote in 1997. So... yeah, we need electoral reform! And have for some time. Thank you for this correction. 1. Voter turn-out was higher than last time. So we are trending up, at least! It is disappointing if you look at the hype going in. They...

It gets worse when you look at the actual numbers : - 61.4% voter turnout (second lowest in history) - 39.6% voted Conservative (lowest majority votes in history) - 60.3% didn't vote Conservative This means that 24.3144% of ALL CANADIANS voted Conservative. http://www.sfu.ca/~aheard/elections/2011-s...
