Re: Images will not open
Okay, so now the Image is mounted, but when I launch either of the installers it says it is locked. I don't have an option to unlock it. Do I need to copy this to a temp folder on my HDD and then run it? Edit: So I did the copy to my HDD, and I still get the same error that it is locked. I check al...

Here is the software https://www.macintoshrepository.org/download.php?id=37932, maybe it is not compatible with System 7.5? I do not know how to find out from which version is compatible with which operating system version, do you know how I can find out? A Better Finder Series Tool Suite (Compatib...

Re: Help opening files in Basilisk
Oh I see, so at least when examining Mac files, I would need to hex edit the disk image itself to understand the file type? I can see the Disk Doubler signature when I do that. You should mount the disk image and check the file type with Creator Changer . You could also use ResEdit . Then I assume ...

Re: Help opening files in Basilisk
However, some old Mac file types just depend on the T&C in the Resource fork to do this. Yes, classic MacOS files (and therefore, the files in BasiliskII) depend on the type/creator. But it is neither in the data nor the resource fork of the file. It is stored on the disk. However, the binding ...

Re: Help opening files in Basilisk
Just an educational question - how do you know when you are dealing with a compressed file based on the information you might see in a hex editor? Is there another file signature to look for to show that it has been compressed? The file signature, i.e., the type and creator, is stored on the Macint...

I recommend you replace the currency sign ¤. It is #219 in the Mac font table.

Re: Installation from multiple disks?
Or try this:
Make a disk image of each floppy with Disk Copy.
Unmount the floppies.
Mount the disk images by double-clicking.
Start installation from the first disk.

I think there is an old mac (7.x) extension that automatically added keyboard shortcuts to dialog/alert buttons (first letter). Does anyone remember the name?

How to remove Basilisk II main window title bar? (Linux)
I would like to remove the Basilisk II window title bar and borders. I searched the web and I think I found a proper function to do that, see: http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk/2.18/GtkWindow.html#gtk-window-set-decorated But where should I add the function call? Somewhere in the main_unix.cpp file?
