Yes, that's what I did and the image mounts in SS - but game still doesn't recognise it. It still asks me to insert the CD when I click on New game.

When I try to make a disk image (.dmg) from the data disk and mount it in SS I get the message that the disk is unreadable and whether I want to initialize it. A .cdr image mounts in SS but is not recognised by the game.

The audio cd didn't mount - BUT the game launched as before and got past the "New game" screen but then asked for the CD when I selected "start game".

The GUI is PPC only, but it is really outdated. All SheepShaver for MacOSX builds from the past years have preferences built-in, so no GUI is needed for most circumstances. And for when the built-in preferences cannot be accessed, when running on full-screen mode or when SheepShaver keeps crashing ...

Apart from the problems decribed in this thread, will SheepShaver run under the Lion although the SheepShaver GUI application is for PowerPC only?

Is it possible to use an older OS 9 image with Windows? The image was created for Sheepshaver for Mac and is named OS90.img.dmg
Do I need to make any changes before using it on a Win machine?

Thanks for the tip. The actual problem was that the bigger image was with extended format but SS wanted the system folder to be on an image with standard format.

The strange thing is that HommIII worked under SheepShaver on my PPC iMac but not on my Intel iMac.
I've tried both the official and the newest version of SS, both with the cd or an image of the cd but neither works. I've tried a few settings in the SS prefs, too.
