Re: extract files from .IMG images

Basilisk II Build 142 may be a solution. AppleTalk used to work between two Macs with a serial cable. The emulator running on XP can act as Mac in the middle, preparing the desired files for transfer. If the AppleTalk setup should fail, you might use ZTerm on Basilisk II and your SE with a null mode...

Re: SHeepShaver and games

From a short test Lightning´s Shadow will not work with any Mac emulator I got.
Maybe this will change one day when QemuPPC has a fully working ATI GPU emulation.

The game does work on my Mac Mini G4 with MacOS 9.2, Tiger and Tiger/Classic.

Re: Speedometer: Disk Test Problem

Did you try assigning more RAM to Speedometer already? The RAM setting can be edited via "Get Info" from the File menu. You might also try setting the target for Disk Test to another folder. Usually the Disk Test folder is the Speedometer folder, setting it to the Unix folder may cause unw...

Re: SheepShaver and 2021 ?

Same here, 2021 is in grey only. Thats for SheepShaver, Basilisk II and MiniVMac_II. I think its the app itself not accepting 2021, but this should be confirmed with an old Mac. You might use 1921 instead, though it may look a bit weird, until you got used to it. ;) Do you mind when I´m uploading th...

Re: SheepShaver and 2021 ?

Sure, I was expecting that. :) Can you upload the software to Macintoshgarden.org? Some here or at Macintoshgarden could have a look what going on with 2021. Other than that, you might create a new desktop file on your 8.6 boot volume. This file did get corrupted sometimes and did cause random errors.

Re: Mac OS 10.6.8 -?

I don´t think Snow Leo can be run on your MBP natively with passable effort. Some Hackintosh users did run SL 10.6.8 on IvyBridge rigs using the mach kernel from (Mountain) Lion, but this was only to get OSX running at all. Virtualisation via VMWare is working for 10.6 Server, so you might try that....

Please do upload your findings to Macintoshgarden.
We already have some exceptions of hosted WinDOS apps - ClarisWoks 5 for example.
Nobody will mind ancient Mac floppy readers.
Some versions of MacDrive also found their way onto the server meanwhile.

So I burned the bin/cue Civ II ´97 to CD and tried with SheepShaver on Windows 10. If your Classic II ITX can have an optical drive, the game should find the C...

Re: Mounting CD game discs?

Yeah, my bad. Civ II Gold or the very early one from ´97? Either way, I think the bin/cue was for preservation only. The .toast image should be enough to get going. Sound from a mixed mode CD may not work with Mac emulation at all. If you expand the .sit file of Civ II ´97 on the Mac´s HDD with Stuf...

Did you try the second DL from the Civilisation CTP page at Macintoshgarden too? That way you may confirm the game is working with SheepShaver from the .toast image. Game CDs may be troublesome, bin/cue especially. Many game CD images can be mounted via the built in SheepShaver GUI, you can check them there as read only. The recent version of the emulator has the ability to mount bin/cue. For ISO game images, https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/virtual-dvd-romcd-ut...

As you seem to have SheepShaver running, best create or download a volume for your System and another one for scratch. Install a clean copy of MacOS from a CD image onto the System volume. Finally you may move your game CDs to the scratch volume. Here are some empty disk images, but you may also cre...

Ah yes, totally forgot about the speed setting. Speed 32X does play the large screen quite nice. Again, you want System 7.1 to play, as RAM is tight with MiniVMac II. Sound Manager 3 and Quicktime 2 need to be added to the 7.1 System folder by drag and drop. https://i.ibb.co/WkrdGP2/Super-Wing.png W...
