Apple II Emulator for iPhone

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/activegs-best-of-fta/id405115025?mt=8 I thought I'd post this here for everyone's enjoyment; this is, in fact, an emulator, that somehow got approved by Apple from the App Store. The games run very well, actually! I'm having quite a bit of fun. The only disadvantage i...

Unfortunately, I have Windows as my main OS; I do, however, have a separate Linux partition that I can use. I do have a hackintosh in virtualbox, but that wouldn't be great for editing. As to what I could or would like to achieve, my main purpose is to bring to light the game's complicated story, th...

Ocarina of Time documentary

Well, I know how I'm going to be passing *my* summer; I'm going to be directing and producing an Ocarina of Time documentary, which will come out, hopefully, sometime next year. Or, if at all possible, within the remainder of this year. I do have a couple of snags, though. First, what video sharing ...

Topics like this make me happy; when someone asks you "why?" (and they will), just answer "why not?" Why am I trying to install an obsolete version of Linux in an emulator for an obsolete model of computer? Why not?

Again, love it when people experiment! :P

WWDC 2011

As the WWDC has just happened, and the keynote is available on iTunes (I highly suggest you check it out if you haven't!), I thought it was high time that a topic was created; thoughts, comments, etc, on the conference? The features of Lion? The future of iOS? The death of MobileMe? I can only offer...

If it's configured correctly, it should bridge the two connections. I'd try that out first, to see if it works; if not, there's always the option of searching through the countless online tutorials about how to do it.

You can check out my abandonware site for old versions of the MacOS (system608.wordpress.com), or check out my mediafire archive (mediafire.com/i337) for the older systems! As for sound, this seems to be an ongoing issue with some games. Perhaps the files aren't in the right place? Or, at the worst ...

It might be possible to create a bridge, since I know for a fact that you can use both a bridge and NAT in Virtualbox, which can't by default use Wireless drivers (to the best of my knowledge). I don't know that anyone's tried this in quite a while, though; perhaps you could try it out and post inst...

I also started with VB, but I learned VB6 (the best to date, if you ask me), and the transition from that to .NET made it worth my while to abandon it. I loved VB6, and would gladly take it up again, if there was only a 64-bit version... C++ was too difficult to learn, so I took up Java. I don't lik...

Well, I think that the reason that Harper won is because there was only one part to the Right, and multiple to the Left. Perhaps not everyone agreed with his agenda, but wanted to vote right, and weren't prepared to vote left. All the different parties seemed to have the same platform at the end of ...

Solution?

Well, I finally got around to installing a Win2k virtual machine to run all my Mac emulation on. Needless to say, the switch was welcome; everything started to work again. Everything, that is, except Mac OS 9. I think I may have finally found the weak link in the chain: Mac OS 9 will simply not boot...

Well, I would say that ClockWise is pointing you in the direction of completely legal, distributable software, which I fully support as a medium. In fact, I would go so far to say that I recommend going with those options, since they are tested with the emulators and are proven to work, and your mil...

They're apparently known to break, though not as often as the ZIP drives. Something to do with the Click of Death. It's been a while since I've used anything from 1995 to the early 2000s, so I can't offer much insight. I honestly didn't know these drives existed until yesterday, however.

Iomega JAZ Drive

I came across an interesting piece of hardware today - a JAZ drive. It's very similar to the old ZIP drives, with the exception that it needed another adaptor and was pretty much a portable hard drive. This is the 1GB model from 1995, which was huge in those days for PC (and Mac, I think) users. Thi...

Ya, I suppose I was a little ridiculous. I guess I could say that it's the Hazard OSX86 version that I used. It installs a bootloader automatically (through the customized part of the installation, of course), so it's easier than a lot.

Please note that I do not condone piracy of any kind! I was actually wondering if anyone has been able to get their hands on the developer preview for OS X 10.7 "Lion" and successfully install it. With the Mac OS evolving more behind-the-scenes, it would be interesting to know exactly what...

Well, the distro I used had everything preset. Since I had the retail version, I saw no harm in using an ISO from an external source. Can't give any hints or links, since it's possible for it to be downloaded illegally as well.

Actually, I've read up on this. EULAs are not usually held up in courts in the US (I say usually, your mileage may vary). It is technically not legal, but it is not illegal to make a hackintosh. Basically, all this means is that Apple won't support you if you have trouble with your OS X installation...

No dice. I think I'm just going to run SheepShaver in a Virtual Machine for now, and try and figure out how to do it natively later. It's not really a life or death matter, at any rate; Basilisk II is working fine, so I'm okay with that for now.

I've tried it on Win 2k in a virtual machine, and it seems to run fine. Even the 2.3 version of SheepShaver doesn't start at all. I don't really know what the problem is, to be honest. With no error messages to go from, I'm at a loss.
