ResForge v1.4 can now open and save AppleDouble files :)

Re: MACE: an New Classic Mac emulator project

Ha! Hypothetically, if ResForge were to support that format it would need to be added to the Graphite framework rather than ResForge itself.

Re: MACE: an New Classic Mac emulator project

Thanks for the detailed reply! Good points about the file structure, I guess I didn't consider that the emulator also needs to write files, not just read them. One of the key benefits for native resources would be the ability to edit the resource forks (via ResForge/Rezilla) without having to wrangl...

Sad. It looks like it has a few dependencies that I’d rather not muck around with. Maybe when I find more time…

Re: MACE: an New Classic Mac emulator project

Hi, just wanted to say thanks heaps for your work on this. I saw your latest blog about Sound Manager - looking forward to when sound is working in Escape Velocity :) EV is a bit of a passion of mine. I've been working on a modern resource editor, ResForge , which includes some dedicated EV tools. P...

This is actually quite useful, thanks emendelson. Though for the application I was doing this with it seemed no delay was necessary (either on 7.6.1 or 9.0.4), so with an alias to the app in startup items it turned out all I needed was this: on idle tell application "Finder" to if (count o...

You can make the "Unix" disk read-only by locking the shared folder in MacOSX. When you then try to make changes to the "Unix" disk, you will get erroneous error messages about files being in use, but the result wil be the same as when the disk would be read-only. This only appl...

Re: Read-only volumes and disk images

Thanks for all the info, Ronald! Regrettably no, not really. Regular development stopped almost four years ago and recently the original web site was even removed. In the past years, several users with developer skills have contributed to the source code with bug fixes and some improvements. Others ...

Read-only volumes and disk images

I just have a few questions and small feature requests for SheepShaver (it is still being developed, right?). 1. Is it possible to make the Unix root read-only? (If not, such a feature would be nice) 2. How come read-only disk images that I create with Disk Utility are read-write within SheepShaver?...
