Re: QEMU Mac OS 9 and X Software Compatibility List
The Freehand installer should work on both, OS 9 and PPC OS X. Why not install it on a VM with Snow Leopard and run it through Rosetta? That's what I do. It is way faster than Qemu. I run FH10 as I don't have the last update with bug fixes for MX (and without that, MX sucks). I'm in a MacBook Air w...

Re: QEMU Mac OS 9 and X Software Compatibility List
QEMU Mac OS X build 19.05.2017, well, the latest here in the forum. Spanish Mac OS 9.2.2, 512MB RAM, G4 FreeHand 10 WORKS FreeHand MX refuses to install, gives error: "Error al lanzar la memoria intermedia" (¿"Error when launching intermediate memory?") and error code 1009:1,-2. ...

Re: getting MacDraw to recognize MacDraw files
Why don't you get all the files into a disk image or .zip/.sit/.bin file, then transfer that file to the Intel Mac and open it inside SheepShaver?

Re: Learning Chinese is Hard
Spanish is easy. I went once to a Chinese demonstration class in the Language School (I go there to take German classes) and it was like... "ouch!". It's not difficult, it's just impossible  If you wanna practise Spanish try this: Entry Level: El cielo está enladrillado ¿Quién lo ...

A G3 can run early versions of OS X adequately. Since you'll be using it as a server, you wouldn't be doing heavy tasks anyway. I wonder if they made iTunes for OS X Server 1.1? ;) You may also want to consider an alternative but compatible audio streaming program, running GNU/Linux perhaps/ No, no...

hi, Would it be good enough to run only iTunes as a client on Mac OS 9 on the G3? iTunes version 2 still works on OS 9. If that is what you are looking for, then I could put that version up for download for you. Best, Cat_7 I'm afraid it's not enough. Using iTunes 2 will make me put all my music in...

Using Bondie iMac 233Mhz as a media client
Hello, I've seen some iMac G3 for a very low price (here in Spain). One of them (the cheapest) is a G3/233 original bondie iMac. I'm sure it can't run even Mac OS X Panther, so the idea is using it with good old Mac OS 9 (I found some Spanish Mac OS disks, yeah!). I have a Lacie NetworkSpace 2 1TB N...

Bad iTunes and Quicktime appearance in E-9.0.4
Hello all I've found an spanish Mac OS 9.0 install disc, so I installed again SheepShaver. At install, it failed when the progress bar was too close to the end, and it crashed SS and quit. But then, I reboot and it was able to boot, i did the configuration, everything ok... but there was not Quickti...

Hola, Now, that's a question! The slirp networking option doesn't allow all networking to pass through, it gives you an IP-address that is not routable. However, if you want, you can setup a different networking approach that allows Appletalk and the webserver to function. I've just tried from anot...

Accessing Mac OS under SheepShaver from the internet
Hello!
I'm playing with my new, Spanish, Mac OS 9. I've found that there is a "Web Sharing" option. Is it something like a HTTP server, such as Apache?
If yes, I have a question: is it possible to access to the emulated OS from the internet? And, if it's possible, how?
Regards, Enrique.-

Could you explain that - what is an example of a disk image that I would use for adding an application? Where would it be or how would I create it? I am now able to pass files back and forth between the emulator and my OS 10 machine, but I have so far not succeeded in adding or running any software...

Yes, I can confirm it is possible to run sheepshaver on a second monitor, but not with real full-screen setting. My second monitor goes black when trying. Setting sheepshaver's resolution to the size of one of your monitors allows you to drag the windows to the desired monitor. Best, Cat_7 Thank yo...

You should try asking that question on a general Macintosh message board. It's not really a SheepShaver specific question. Someone with more knowledge might be able to think of an answer to that question. I've posted it here because I think SheepShaver could have any special behaviour... but I'll a...

SheepShaver under Mac OS X in second screen
Hi all I'm going to "recycle" my old Sony 15" TFT monitor from my old PC, and plug it to my iMac 20" using a MiniDisplayPort->VGA and use it in "extended" mode. I want to run SheepShaver.app, in fullscreen, but only in that monitor (1024x768) and work with Mac OS X in t...

Is there a MSN Messenger Client for MacOS?
Hi all I'm looking for a MSN Messenger Client for my MacOS 9.0.4. I've tried MacMessenger 3.54 and it connects with my @hotmail.com address, but it disconnects and re-connects a lot of times. I don't mind if it's in English, but I prefer it in Spanish because it's my main language. Thank you, Enrique
