OK. Got it working. The problem was that I didn't have all my package requirements installed.
Thanks to anyone who spent any time thinking about my problem.

Re: BasiliskII for Linux
A quick update on my previous post.
I was able to find the latest source code on github and successfully downloaded it. Unfortunately, I get the exact same error when running the make command.
Still searching....

Re: BasiliskII for Linux
I'm trying to get BasiliskII working on Xubuntu 18.04. I have an old copy of source (macemu) that I downloaded several years ago and had running. I am able to get the autogen.sh to complete without errors (that I see, anyway) and am given the instruction to run "make". When I do, I get a s...

Re: BasiliskII for Linux
After running Basilisk II for several years problem free on Xubuntu 12.04 LTS I upgrade this past week (same hardware, new OS). In order to mirror my OS disks I had to use Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS and then add the Xubuntu Desktop. Today i attempted to reinstall Basilisk II using the same software I h...

Ron,
Thank you very much! The aoss command works great. There is a slight delay, but much, much better.
Thanks again!

Re: BasiliskII for Linux 13_09_2010 available
Hi, First, let me say that I love this version! It has been the easiest by far of any attempt I've made to get Basilisk II running. I use to run Baskilisk II a couple of years ago on Ubuntu. I had created Mac disks for the system and all my applications. I recently bought a new computer and have 12....

Weird, but good!
Hi, I set aside the original cvs source I has used and checked it out again (same commands as was given by Amade in post 2; same as I did the first time). Recompiled and everything works. The only thing I can think of is that some of the modules compiled before I updated the libraries were used on t...

further, but not there yet
Hi again, Well, I did find and install several X11 libraries. That did seem to work. I now have an executable BasiliskII file. However, when I run the file I get a number of errors: earl@Austin:~/BasiliskII/src/Unix$ ./BasiliskII Basilisk II V1.0 by Christian Bauer et al. (process:31013): GLib-GObje...

checking for X... no
Hi, Trying to follow your instructions, and all goes well until the ./autogen.sh gets to the configure section. I'm seeing: checking for X... no configure: error: You need X11 to run Basilisk II. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala using Gnome window manager. However, if I run xterm or xclock or an...
