Hello, what do you want to achieve with Norton Utilities? I have tried NU5 and found that SpeedDisk and NortonInfo are working. DiskDoctor cashes, but you can have Disk First Aid, don't you? I think that the utilities were meant for real physical disks, rather than hardfiles, which we are most ofte...

Whenever I try to run Norton Disk Doctor form the SystemWorks 1.0 package, it just crashes. As in SheepShaver won't respond to anything. I have to use task manager to force close it. :( Also, disk i/o is slow as molasses. And by 'slow', I mean s.....l.....o.....w. To the point where it acts like it'...

No, I am using a new world rom also. Maybe you have a conflict with some other extensions? I also disabled the three ARA extensions, did you do that? In 9.0.4 I disabled/removed the extensions: Open Transport Open Transport ASLM Modules OpenTpt Modem OpenTpt Remote Access OpenTpt Serial Arbitrator ...

Installing 'OpenTransportLib' makes it crash :( What makes what crash and when? I do not know why you would want to replace Open Transport with an earlier version, but I did that just now to check this. In 9.0.4 I disabled all Open Transport files. I then copied the six OT 2.0.3 extensions to the E...

From your first post in a different I know that you use SheepShaver build 06-11-2010 in 64-bit mode in MacOSX 10.6. Please include that information with questions. Without that information it is not possible for us to give sensible answers. There are considerable differences between for instance Sh...

I've downgraded to the OS 8.6 version of Open Transport, but there are some problems. 1) When I open the TCP/IP control panel, I get the error message: The application "TCP/IP" could not be opened because "OTGlobalLib" could not be found. 2) When I open Classilla, I get the error...

OS 8 vs 9
Which OS is better? I've noticed that 8.6 starts up a lot faster in SheepShaver than 9.0.4. It is also alot snappier. Which one is better for SheepShaver, and what are the pros and cons of each?

Tried Classilla? And this is pure curiosity on my part, but did you by any chance do anything with OpenTransport...like down-grade it to a version provided with OS 8.5.x-8.6.... as opposed to sticking with what is provided in the OS 9.0.4 install? I installed Netscape 7 and it worked. iCab is obvio...

What is the best browser for SheepShaver running Mac OS 9.0.4? I've tried iCab, but when loading complex web sites (like Macintosh Garden), SheepShaver quits by itself. Mind you, this isn't a big deal (checks disk at next start of emu), but this is annoying. Yes, I could just transfer files using HF...
