Is the Basilisk GUI application the only way to create "hard drives" for use within Basilisk? I assume that volumes created with Sheepshaver GUI do not work with Basilisk, but I have not tested this.

Hello, I think there may be a typo that has been propagated from the original link below. most scripts I see start with #!/ rather than #/! It seemed to work anyway, but I am searching for reasons why I get the colorful beachball of delay when I launch the script... Here is a quote of the web page I...

Color change woes returning from Hide when running as root
Hello, I am running Sheepshaver as root, spawned from a terminal script, so that I may use AppleTalk devices. Now, when I Hide Sheepshaver, and bring it back, the color issues return. I conclude that launching Sheepshaver from command line defaults to 64 bit mode. Is there an option I can add to com...

Got AppleTalk functionality!!!
Good news! Using the tap0 and IPNetRouterX software, I have been able to mount shared drives on the desktop, and actually see printers in the chooser. Very exciting! Now I just need to write a utility to fix the user on files in the Unix drive, and things will be pretty smooth going. Yay! Thanks eve...

AppleTalk sharing with Sheepshaver
It appears that I can't get the server to mount unless I am running Sheepshaver as root.
Is this the case?

Sheepshaver launcher app?
In the docs about AppleTalk for Sheepshaver I see reference for a Shaeepshaver_launcher_app.
I can't find one though. link anyone?
I thought I would try it since I cannot seem to launch Sheepshaver from the terminal.

Getting AppleTalk working with Sheepshaver
My ultimate goal is to be able to mount OS 9 server drives or other OS 9 shared drives in my Sheepshaver. Following the instructions at http://www.open.ou.nl/hsp/engels/Appletalking_SheepShaver.htm, I am trying to launch Sheepshaver with root privileges. It does not work: MacPro2:~ mine$ cd /Users/m...

Sheepshaver window color changes after Hide
Hi - Noticing a strange window color change in Sheepshaver under these conditions: Hide Sheepshaver. Either by using Mac OS X menu or alt-click elsewhere. Return to Sheepshaver. After a moment, the window gets a bright-blue overcast. Dragging mouse around the screen will update small bits of it, as ...

Intercepting the Command key makes sense for Command Q - Quit. I can see why it works the way it does, but my friend uses Command-H all the time to jump around between open apps. Is it possible to pass other Command key combo's along to the parent OS? The only application I know of that may suffer i...

Basilisk II - Command-H (Hide Basillisk) menu item
The Command-H menu item (Hide Basilisk) functions if you access it in the OS X menu, but it does not function when pressing Command H on the keyboard. It seems like it should work, since it is listed in the menu as a key equivalent.
Thanks,
Anne

The absolute most import issue is to get the LaserWriter 16/600 working with System 7.5.5. My friend has software that runs only on 7, and needs to be able to use his LaserWriter. I was using iCab to experiment to see if I could get a Network connection, but internet is not as important. Thanks, anne

I did what Ronald suggested, and that got me my TCP/IP panel updated. It did not make any difference for connecting however. I then installed the OpenTransport 1.1.2 suggested by Mac Mechanic. still fail. More info on my set up: In Basislisk GUI, in the Serial/Network tab, I have entered slirp for E...

System 7.5.5 Networking troubles.
I have installed 7.5.3 and upgraded to 7.5.5 under BasaliskII, and cannot get networking to work. In addition, I do not get the TCP/IP control panel that I see in the installation guides. I have a MacTCP control panel, and a hidden file in control panels called TCP/IP. Any clues? Is there a separate...
