Re: Resizing Resolutions

I tried the PPC version and its still the same problem, I even tried 256 colors, more and it complains, I didn't try 16 colors. https://i.postimg.cc/jdvRdqJn/mac-problem-4.png However while trying the game "Odyssey: The Legend of Nemesis" on Basilisk I did have somewhat of a playable solut...

Resizing Resolutions

some of the games seem to be of a lower resolution meaning they appear small and windowed in Basilisk and Sheepshaver, for example Rebel Assault is very small. The solution to this I was told was to resize the emulator under the Graphics tab, for example setting it to 640 by 480 and then set the emu...

Re: Sheepshaver "choppy"

Never-mind I figured it out. TheZone isn't only for PPC, it's also for 68k, which it seems to run better on. I ran it in Basilisk and it ran okay. I still think "The Magic School Bus" seems a little poor but it looks like it also works in windows 3 which I will be trying soon. I'm not in t...

Sheepshaver "choppy"

I don't really know how to describe this but some games in sheepshaver seem to play "choppy." They don't run smoothly, they might skip along. These games inlcude "thezone" and "the magic school bus explores the human body," although that last one might just be my memory...

Desktop save location

When I extract a cd, floppy, sit, or any compressed file onto sheepshaver's emulated desktop where does that data store to? The reason I ask is I am finding that my volumes fill up really quickly in sheepshaver (maybe it's because they have a limit of 2GB, or because games for PPC are larger) so as ...

Re: BasiliskII sound quits, then freezes

I don't think it's happened for a while, I can't remember off the top of my head. It does happen, I think it might be an issue with Basilisk requiring something my computer isn't giving it, maybe it needs more memory. I have a new computer and it seems to be working fine.

Re: HFV Explorer and file type mapping

I was told extended is the preferred format in the post below. But if you say standard will work just as well I will give it a try, I'm worried I will run into problems and won't know it's because the program is on the wrong kind of format. https://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=...

Re: HFV Explorer and file type mapping

I understand that, how do I use HFV Explorer to get games onto Sheepshaver since it sounds like HFV Explorer doesn't like Extended volumes which is what I need for Sheepshaver, otherwise I would be using Basilisk. HFV Explorer looks at my volumes and only sees some kind of text document that says &q...

Re: HFV Explorer and file type mapping

I think so since I am using Sheepshaver I need to make volumes and they come in three options, one is dos which I understand I shouldn't use, one is an standard which as I understand it is useful for games that could just run on Basilisk II, the other is something called extended which sounds like t...

HFV Explorer and file type mapping

I'm trying to get some files onto a volume in sheepshaver but everytime I open the volume there is a file titled "where have all my files gone?" Clicking on it I get a message that says "There is no file type mapping from (ttro, ttxt). Please define it in the dialog that will open next...

Standard, Extended, or DOS disk

When creating a new hard disk volume in sheepshaver there seems to be an option of standard, extended, or dos. Which one should be selected? From what I looked up online it looks like standard is an older format while extended is a newer format. Does that mean for games that are old use standard and...

Is there a site where I can find a list of error codes and what they mean? For example "The application "unknown" has unexpectedly quit, because an error of type 4 occurred." I have seen a site for mac osx https://krypted.com/lists/comprehensive-list-of-mac-os-x-error-codes/ but ...

Re: Tips for a more stable Basilisk

I think your right, it is the emulated computer. The program Basilisk itself doesn't seem to be unresponsive on my computer's end but I can't interact with whatever I was doing on it. I have been playing "Pax Imperia" and it seems to freeze up more with 7.6.1. than with 7.5.5. The same can...

Re: Tips for a more stable Basilisk

My Host Operating System is windows 10, Basilisk just seems to freeze and I can't interact with it. Is that called crashing? I see the guide and it has some good information for 8.1, what settings should I use for 7.5.5 or 7.6.1? If you say I can find out what the error is in windows by searching it...

Tips for a more stable Basilisk

Are there any tips or ideas one can do to make Basilisk less prone to Freezing up? My Basilisk freezes up occasionally, is that what crashing is because I thought crashing was when the program ceases? I emulate a system 7.6.1 but I also have 7.5.5 and I use a quadra650 rom. Is there a link for recom...

Do disk files need to be .dsk?

So I recently set up SheepShaver and I noticed HFVExplorer doesn't recognize the disk files. I noticed that the disk file types are just "files." I can rename them to "whatever.dsk" and they will be the file HFVExplorer recognizes, however the guide https://www.emaculation.com/do...

How much ram for Basilisk

I'm playing the game "Pax Imperia" and occasionally Basilisk Freezes up and I have to close it using task manager. I've set up SheepShaver as I'm ready for that and I thought maybe that might be better for the game but while setting it up I was reminded of ram size in the gui setup. I was ...

Re: Mini vMac Setup Guide

I just got some advice I think would be great for the guide, if not just ignore. If you can suggest making copies of disk images in case of corrupting that would really help people like me. I recently played a game that caused mini vmac to freeze up forcing me to quit mini vmac at the risk of corrup...

I tried opening the game Glider 4.0 and the title screen comes on but nothing else. How do I turn off Mini Vmac if I can't shut...

Is the Mac OS ROM still needed as well as the other kinds of ROM's like Quadra650? I think that was important for something.
