Re: Updating index
Yes, I open up Qemu and occasionally it will start indexing my os. Your saying that I have to disable Sherlock and lose Sherlock, Sherlock is used for searching correct? There is no other way to search?

Updating index
Every so often I get the message "updating index of "Mac 9.2.1"." Why does this happen, does it need to happen, and can I stop it from happening?

Trouble with .toast
I'm having trouble opening toast files in qemu. I use programs like Stuffit expander, disk copy, and Virtual CD/DVD-ROM Utility and these programs work fine at opening toast in Basilisk and Sheepshaver but for qemu they don't. I may get error messages like "There are insufficient system resourc...

Qemu won't restart
My Qemu doesn't restart when I ask it to, it just goes black. I then have to close the program at the window and then it's angry at me when I open the program again. Normally I wouldn't restart, I would just shut down but sometimes when I install something it demands I restart qemu. This is the mess...

Re: folder size requirements
I also wanted to thank you adespoton because I didn't know if it was clear it was your advice that I was following when I used the drive setup. I don't know if that specifically was what you were talking about when you mentioned disk tools but it was the closest thing I could find that looked like w...

Re: folder size requirements
I accidentally posted in this thread https://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12078. I was reviewing it to remember how to create a second drive. I think I got it figured out. I did create a second drive and I used the "Drive Setup" from "Utilities" and it seems to work....

Re: Trouble with Qemu Guide
Oh I was hoping I could just plug another volume into qemu like I do with sheepshaver and basilisk and not worry about partitions. I thought you were talking about merging two volumes into one. Can't I just plug a blank volume in and have two drives? EDIT: sorry I got ahead of myself, I didn't read ...

Re: Trouble with Qemu Guide
OK, so what I'm hearing is create more drives like in basilisk and sheepshaver, so I went through the process in the guide where I navigated to the qemu folder and enterted "qemu-img.exe create -f raw -o size=4g Games1.qcow2" and edited my qemu.bat from qemu-system-ppc-screamer.exe ^ -L pc...

Re: folder size requirements
That worked, but how does it solve my space issue? If I start putting software in my (I don't know what you would call it, basilisk and sheepshaver call them volumes) will space automatically grow to fit? In Sheepshaver I just made three volumes for all my games but some of them were really large. I...

Re: folder size requirements
Maybe I'm doing it wrong, tell me if my steps aren't correct 1. I opened command prompt 2. I entered everything in parenthesis "cd C:\Users\TBTol\Desktop\Games\Mac Emulation\Qemu" which is the location of my qemu folder with the .exe and .img files 3. I pressed enter 4. I copied and pasted...

Re: folder size requirements
You mean use command prompt to create it, correct? Just like I did with the qemu drive I have my os 9.2 installed on? I remember being confused in the guide when I was told to use the qemu-img.exe to create a drive until I was told to use the command prompt instead. I'm going to ask instead of try b...

folder size requirements
Qemu has a really complex way of making drives (volumes in basilisk and sheepshaver), I created one for my hard disk. I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the amount of memory allocated to the drive will increase automatically as it is needed (for example my computer only says it has 1.2 GB lef...

Re: Noob question: what is the Screamer build?
I saw this post and it made me curious. Are you saying non-screamer builds have no sound? How can you run a virtual computer without sound?

Re: Fillzilla Error Message
I got it working. I forgot to update my ip address in settings and I did need to put in my username and password for my emulated system. I also have the mac os 9.2.1 cd in my emulated system. If I wanted to remove it or add another cd to my system I need to change qemu-system-ppc-screamer.exe ^ -L p...

I also noticed the error message is different if qemu is on and netpresenz is on. I was using it like hfvexplorer which can be used with the emulator off.

Re: Fillzilla Error Message
I'm writing this as I go along. I meant to say I switch back to 21, I mistyped. I changed my bat file it now says qemu-system-ppc-screamer.exe ^ -L pc-bios ^ -M mac99,via=pmu ^ -m 512 ^ -display sdl ^ -boot c ^ -drive file=MacOS9.2.img,format=raw,media=disk ^ -drive file=macos_921_ppc.iso,format=raw...

Re: Fillzilla Error Message
I'm assuming your talking about my qemu command line because that's the only command line I know I have set up. So I switch my netpresenz back to 2121 and changed my command line from qemu-system-ppc-screamer.exe ^ -L pc-bios ^ -M mac99,via=pmu ^ -m 512 ^ -display sdl ^ -boot c ^ -drive file=MacOS9....

Re: IP address
Do you think the error with filezilla is because I have the wrong ip address? I just posted that I changed the port but it's still not working. I tried the ip address "127.0.0.1" with the correct port but I still get this message. Status: Resolving address of localhost Status: Connecting t...

Re: IP address
Maybe I'm misinterpreting your answer but when you say "you can connect to it from Filezilla in the host by pointing it at ftp://localhost:2121." are you saying I need to enter "ftp://localhost:2121" in the [Use the following IP address:] because otherwise I don't know how to poi...
