When I try to open Qemu 4.2, I get this:

The file “qemu.command” could not be executed because you do not have appropriate access privileges.

Tried changing the permissions for the command file but no luck.

Ah. Makes sense. And while we're on the subject, since there don't seem to be any pre-built Qemu VMs out there, has anyone written some Qemu instructions that are easy to understand for a non-programmer? I really have a hard time setting that up, and I want to try it.

I am trying to run the OS 9 version of AvP Gold from 2000 in a pre-built SS wrapper. When I launch the game, the whole system freezes. I'm hoping it can be fixed in the VM preferences. The virtual drive is 8-9 GB. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've been trying to run realMyst in SS under OS 9.0.4, and when launching, it gives the error Renderer Check Failed. Does this have to do with VRAM, or something else? Stumped....

When I originally installed AMBER, it wasn't a fresh install, it was a copy from another machine. And the Quicktime I was using for it was 2.5 (the game is from 1996). I don't know if the fix came just from reinstalling the game, or the automatic QT 2.1 that was installed with it, or both. Anyway th...

Ok, this just keeps getting better and better...I was finally able to get AMBER to work in SSW, _BUT_ when I set the screen res to 800x600 and go to full screen, the screen goes black but the desktop window stays the same size. Tried setting it to another resolution and back - no go.

Sounds good. I just tried replacing SS in SSW with an older version - no change.

Aha! Maybe that will do it. I really like SSW and the whole all-in-one thing. If I can just replace the SS in it, sounds great. Trying that out now. Thanks!

I did just try opening SSW in my admin account, which I normally never go into and has nothing but OS X stuff in Library - still crashing.

Maybe I should ask emendelson if he still has his earlier version I used to use on Snow Leopard - from 2016?

Hmmm. I'll have to try as emendelson said, using SS and not SSW. Funny you mention about the brightness in AMBER - I once tried the Windoze version, and it has no brightness control at all for some bizarre reason. You're stuck at the brightest setting, which looks awful. Did you mean you'd upload AM...

I looked there too - nothing that rings a bell. I suppose there could be some Home/Library stuff elsewhere that's causing trouble. I did move some of those things from 10.6. Resetting prefs is a dreadful bore, as they say. I'll try copying the folder on the Desktop, emptying the one in the Home fold...

Well, I looked at the System/Library/Extensions folder, and it all seems to be general OS X stuff. Nothing with a name suggesting I installed it later. I should mention though that SSW did work a lot better in 10.6.8 Snow Leopard before I upgraded. This is on an early 2008 Mac Pro.

In OS 9? The only thing different is Quicktime 2.5.1 which I installed after. AMBER's graphics are better with it than a later version.

Just for the record, the QEMU build I mentioned to Cat-7 has a ReadMe that says:

I tried the keystroke and it works - BUT - now the OS 9 screen doesn't fill the monitor from top to bottom. I'm having an issue with SS not running in fullscreen (OS 9.0.4 in OS X Snow Leopard). I've tried to get it to run in fullscreen at 800x500, but the preference is forced back into Window mode each time. Not sure what to do.
