Re: MACE: an New Classic Mac emulator project

Any ETA when the source is going to be released?

Per the web site, it says it 's very early development, but looking at what's accomplished, looks like it's either has (or even surpassed) Executor's level of compatibility.

Their work could really help Executor development...

Re: Softmac Emulation bugs

Unlikely you're going to find a fix for SoftMac any time soon though. Would be nice if they would open-source their older emulators (Fusion, SoftMac). Has anybody tried contacting the developer and asking? Just think about the possibilities (SCSI support once again in Basilisk II/SheepShaver)... :m...

Compiling Executor

Seeing as how the latest Executor for OS X is from April of 2020, I thought compiling it from the github repo would be prudent. So I followed the Readme in autc04's guthub repo, and the results are puzzling. I get an error: Adams-MacBook-Pro:build a_wgaa$ cmake .. -- The C compiler identification is...

Re: No sound

If it's hard-linked to command-shift-5, just use keyboard prefs to move the screenshot feature elsewhere while you change the settings. I haven't used that build, so I'm not sure if there's an easier way. So I changed "Screenshot and recording options" from Cmd-Shift-5 to Cmd-Shift-6. Cmd-Shift-5 s...

Re: No sound

How do I access the preferences (via Cmd-Shift-5), the MacOS screenshot feature engages.

How do I access it in autc04's build?

No sound

Running the latest release of Executor from autc04's branch, and I can get several games to work (Lemmings, Museum Madness) but there's no sound.

They work fine with sound in Qemu and Basilisk II.

Is this a limitation of Executor?

Transfering files

So I created an HFS+ image using HFSUtilsGUI, but I can't seem to get it to be recognized by Qemu as a valid disk. When I try to start Qemu using: ./qemu-system-ppc-screamer -L pc-bios -boot c -M mac99,via=pmu -m 512 -prom-env 'auto-boot?=true' -prom-env 'boot-args=-v' -prom-env 'vga-ndrv?=true' -rt...

Disk Images

Is there a way to mount disk images formatted with Mac OS Standard (HFS) in recent OS X versions read/write?

All I get is the infamous error "please convert."

I've tried the updated version of HFS for osxfuse with no luck.

Re: GSOC qemu Boot Mac OS >= 8.5 on PowerPC system

I wasn't aware of any Carbon calls in the Cocoa.m file. What functions do you want to see removed? Not removed per se. It just so happens that cocoa.m includes this line: #include <Carbon/Carbon.h> Why does it import the Carbon/HIToolbox headers? If possible, wouldn't it be logical to remove all ca...

I've figured out if I specify the drive arguments before the usb device arguments, it causes the system bomb. But if specify them before said arguments, it doesn't.

All makes sense I think the only fix for that is to implement the SPRs. I agree that we need a github repo where we can mess with all this. According to this post on the OpenBIOS mailing list, the SPRs are as follows: It is probing if the hardware has these registers here. Nothing is wrong. We disc...

Ah; that explains it; I moved my resolution patch to the 16 Aug build to take advantage of some stability fixes he added there. If I get time, I'll diff the two builds and see what changed that could affect the 256 colour mode. I tried the older qemu VGA driver (the one from July), and 256 colors w...
